Amazon.com The Panasonic KX-TS620B is a reliable corded phone designed for users looking for a model that offers modern functionality while still providing basic usage during power outages. The KX-TS620B has a businesslike black casing, and is wall-mountable, allowing you to keep countertop space free from unnecessary clutter. The phone comes backed with a one-year limited warranty. Always Know Who's Calling The KX-TS620B is call waiting caller ID compatible (requires a subscription) and requires no batteries to operate. A three-line LCD screen provides access to the name and number of the person calling, along with the date and time of their call. You can scroll through the list of the 20 most recent calls, and redial any of them with the touch of a button. Record Messages and Memos A digital answering system is included, which offers up to 15 minutes of tapeless recording space. Each message receives a time/date stamp, and a simple series of buttons allows you to skip, delete or save each message. You can record memos to other household members as well. Hands-free Operation A headset jack is located on the base, and can accommodate a standard 2.5 mm headset (available separately); a speakerphone is also located on the base, supplying you with hands-free operation. A redial button lets you quickly dial the last outgoing number, while the flash button provides access to call waiting. Handset and ringer volume controls allow you to adjust levels to your liking. What's in the Box: Base, handset, coiled handset cord, telephone line cord, user's manual

LOVE THIS PHONE July 31, 2008 This phone is great. Love the phone book and have stored all of my most called numbers and then some. Love the fact that it is a safe phone and not like the cordless phones that most people use. Everyone should do research and find out about all of the negative reasons not to have cordless phones in your home.
Caller ID and answering machine work great. Lots of nice features.
Panasonic corded phone July 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The phone seems to be a good one but its main drawback is the visual message panel that is nearly impossible to read because it is so dim. It has levels of adjustment but even on the brightest setting it can hardly be read. So much for caller ID etc.

TabHiker June 22, 2008 Until now I have always used stand-alone answering machines but all had voice problems, so I decided to try a phone with built-in answering system to see if that would help. This Panasonic model had the best reviews. Set-up was not difficult and all features work as stated. It is easy to use and I did get the improvement in sound quality I desired, especially well tested when picking up messages from a remote location, including 9 time zones away. Only two con's. 1) The lack of display back light that all mention. 2) The volume for listening to "live" screened/monitored calls is very low, but fine when played back. This is quite annoying and the Panasonic tech was unable to help.
Imagine the Possibilities May 20, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm astonished at all the positive reviews this "answering system":has received. The LED screen may just as well have been omitted; it's utterly unreadable. How, since the telephone has to be plugged in anyway, a light couldn't have been installed is beyond me. You'll also enjoy wading through the instruction manual, clearly written by a resident geek somewhere and terribly difficult to fathom. Worse yet, this seems to be the best phone option out there. Imagine that.
wall phone April 7, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this phone to be used specifically as a wall phone. I found out after arrival that the backing did not fit my existing plate. I have been unable to find one locally and called panasonic to find that they have the plate but it is on back order and will take approximately 1 month plus 7 days for delivery.
I can only conclude that the design is flawed for U.S. use as a wall phone, I note that other phones can accomodate a convential wall plate hook-up
