This printer is good enough. Scanner is terrific. I had no problem setting the printer up, getting the ink cartridges in, everything worked just the way it was supposed to. HP is great and I highly recommend this printer for a student or home use.
OK with me. October 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace my parallel port Epson Color Stylus. I am happy. The installation seemed to take a long time, but went just fine. It prints, scans, and makes copies. I have a Gateway laptop, with Centrino Duo processor, running Vista. I later uninstalled the part of the software that runs the buttons on the printer because it was adding time to booting the computer. Great value for the low price.
Review of Hp Deskjet F4280 September 30, 2008 Purchased for general home use this All-in-One unit has met all my expectations. Easy to set up and use. Ink use/cost is high but offset by good performance.

Works fine...on XP September 29, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
When I bought my new Toshiba Satellite with Vista Home Premium installed, I found out--too late, of course--that it wouldn't support my old HP Laserjet 1000 Series, nor was it willing to adopt my Canoscan LIDE 25 without a 30-some dollar update. So I bought this. And about 94% into the installation process, I got one of those lovely "Fatal Error!" messages. Thinking it might be the disk, I downloaded the installation from HP's website. Same thing. Finally went to their support chatroom and found out the only way to fix the problem was to mess with the registry, which, not being a tech-geek, I was unwilling to do.
So I hooked it up to my old laptop running XP, and shazam! Works fine.
I know there's going to be some computer whiz (or HP hireling) comment on this, berating my inability to handle "minor technical problems" or some such dreck. Save it. These products are sold to the average clod; the average clod should be able to set them up and use them. Otherwise, it's a rip-off. Period.
HP All-in-One September 28, 2008 Slick. Very functional and great product for the price. Just what a starting college student needed!
