Amazon.com Product Description Boasting 5.8GHz extended range technology, the Uniden DXAI8560-2 Digital Caller ID Cordless Phone makes it easy and fun to stay in touch with friends and family. Packed with advanced features, this user-friendly phone includes an extra handset/cradle and belt clip for hands-free calling. The DXAI8560-2 is extremely easy to use, thanks to the trilingual language support and time-saving options. First, the display clearly shows the name and number of the caller in call waiting, even while you're on the phone. (Note: to activate the caller ID features, you must first subscribe through your telephone company.) There's also an easy-to-see voicemail waiting indicator to help ensure that you don't miss an important message, backlit keypad for quick and easy dialing in all kinds of light conditions, and the option to view stored numbers during a call. Ten speed-dial locations save you even more time, and the "Find Handset" locator key immediately locates a lost handset. Finally, this desk or wall mountable phone is both headset and hearing aid compatible, and includes a convenient volume control. About Uniden 5.8GHz phones Uniden 5.8GHz phones operate on the higher end of the frequency spectrum, providing greater range and less interference than standard 2.4GHz phones. Uniden 5.8GHz digital FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) technology secures privacy while providing longer range and crystal clear sound. 5.8GHz frequencies often escape most wireless interference, including most Wi-Fi networks, resulting in a cleaner and clearer signal, and unlike many other 5.8GHz phones, Uniden TRU series phones both transmit and receive in 5.8GHz. The DXAI8560-2 is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

Basic features missing. August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have no problems with the performance of the phones. Sound quality and distance are fine. What I did not realize until too late was: 1. You cannot use both phones at once. This is really surprising and annoying when two people want to be on a conversation. 2. There is no "mute" feature, neither when on handset nor on speakerphone. This is a significant problem when on a long conference call where you are mostly listening in.
It looks so much like my other Uniden cordless set (a two-line model) that I assumed it also had these same, basic features.
cordless phone August 18, 2008 if you where glasses these are great! i can see who is calling without glasses and they are easy to put your info into. i love them!
get what you pay for July 22, 2008 I purchased this phone and will be returning it as soon as possible. When talking on this phone, the voice on the other end fades in and out. I cannot walk very far from the base without breaking up on the other person. The caller ID works about half of the time. I was so happy to find a phone at such a good price, but I guess you do get what you pay for.
Nice Product....but July 22, 2008 A good product if your house is totally plain with no corners or walls, the phone must be very close to the station, about 4 to 5 meters around with no obstacles...
Cheap construction, ridiculously loud speakerphone July 21, 2008 I wouldn't recommend this phone, but I'm stuck with it since I threw out my packaging before I had a chance to really use it.
The "end" call button is so sensitive (and unrecessed) that you will disconnect a caller if you try to cradle this phone between your face and shoulder for even a half-second.
The speakerphone, even at its "lowest" setting, is so loud that my neighbors can surely hear it.
The ringtones are largely unpleasant.
The range is not impressive, either, despite what is advertised.
