Amazon.com Product Description The 4-head SLV-N750 hi-fi VHS recorder from Sony is an inexpensive, high-quality VCR that is perfect for your home theater or anywhere in the house. The SLV-N750 provides everything you need in a VCR. It's easy to use and offers you superior recording quality, even when you are recording in extended-play mode. With a minimum of setup required, you can begin using the SLV-N750 almost immediately. Hooking the VCR up to your TV or your home theater is simple, and the SLV-N750 will automatically program all available TV channels as well as set the clock for you. Picture and recording quality are enhanced with Sony's four dual recording and playback heads. Don't be afraid of getting the most out of your videotapes. Even when you record a full eight hours on a tape, the SLV-N750's 19-micron recording heads and the digital auto tracking system ensure a great picture. The SLV-N750 offers stereo sound as well. Skipping commercials just got easier. With one touch, the commercial skip feature of the SLV-N750 allows you to automatically skip 30 seconds on the tape at a time, up to two minutes at once. Another common nuisance is a thing of the past with the flash rewind feature. A full-length tape can be rewound in about a minute. The stylish, silver-toned SLV-N750 VCR is designed to be a perfect match with Sony WEGA TVs but works seamlessly with any brand of television. The wide body of the VCR is intended to mesh with other home theater, stereo, and video components, and will offer an appealing visual match with larger TVs. The SLV-N750 provides two composite-video inputs and two analog audio inputs: one set in the rear of the unit and one set in front for quick hookups of your camcorder or other devices. The VCR has one composite-video output at the back of the unit. You can schedule up to eight programs with the easy-to-use recording timer, and the multilingual onscreen display makes it easy to set up the VCR or record programs with instructions in English, Spanish, and French. What's in the Box VHS recorder, owner's manual, remote control, 2 AA batteries, 75-ohm coaxial video cable with F-type connector.
Product Description Designed to complement your WEGA TV with its distinctive silver finish, the new SLV-N750 Hi-Fi VHS Video Cassette Recorder rises above the rest by combining convenience and amazing picture quality. Not the Best July 12, 2008 I bought this VCR to replace my old Sony VCR, an SLV-AX10, which I purchased in 2000. This Full Chassis model is very fast in rewinding but a little noisy in its recording and unloading operations. In playing a tape it has recorded, it seems that at the beginning of the tape it has a problem in tracking its own recordings while there are no problems at all in playing old commercially produced tapes. This machine is very easy to operate, similar to my old VCR and I suppose it's still worth the price of a refurbished device.
Bad service and bad product. June 27, 2008 The first one didn't work so we called the seller, who told us to call Sony to fix it. The next day I called and talked to a different person who said send it back for a replacement so we did. After two weeks with no word we emailed twice through Amazon with no replies. Finally we called the seller to see if they got it ok. A week after the call the replacement came with a little sticker telling us not to return it to them. This one records fuzzy and to eject a tape we have to manually open the little door. We've had really good luck with Amazon sellers in the past, but we won't buy from World Wide Distributors again.
Four years old and eating tapes June 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this VCR for $79.99 on 5/30/04 and are trashing it today because it starting destroying tapes. I fails to release the actual tape portion of the cassette on eject, shredding the tape. BEWARE anyone using this for home viewing home videos with cassette adapters! We purchased a different Sony VCR two years earlier and it is still working.
mister electronics to the rescue June 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know why the majority of you people are whinning about the Sony VCR. I currently own the SLV-N51 and that is the best VCR I have ever owned. I have owned it for over 6 years now and never had a problem with it. So, negative joes, I dare you to be positive for once in your life. Look at the bright side of things, smile, life is sweet!!! And too short to complain. You can atract more people with honey than sour stuff.
Sony 4 head Hi Fi VCR June 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Sony SLV-N750 Full Chassis 4 head HI FI VCR is a wonderfully smooth functioning machine. Sony's excellent engineering has come through once again. For someone like me who still has many Video cassetts, I needed a replacement for my old machine that stopped working. No-one sells VCRs on the retail side anymore as it is 'old technology' so I was greatful to get one of the last refurbished machines that just 5 years ago were everywhere.
