5 out of 5 stars Works as promised (at least so far)   July 13, 2008
I bougth this radio because I live in the tornado belt and I wanted a radio that I could screen out all the other alerts from the National Weather Service (floods, wind etc) but still alert me to a Tornado Watch and Warning. The product was easy to set up and program. I have had it for about 2 weeks and we have had severe weather and the other alerts will still flash and scroll across the screen but the alarm does not sound allowing me to sleep. My old radio used to go off all night and I would eventually unplug it - defeating the purpose of having the radio.

So far I am very happy with this radio.

Product performs as expected, however, there has been no severe weather conditions to fully test it's performance.

5 out of 5 stars One Step Ahead   July 12, 2008
I really like my 1st Alert radio. It fits nicely on my window sill and anytime an alert's issued in my area it let's me know.
I also really like that I can set the radio for the type of alerts I want to receive, so I don't have it going off everytime there's a run-of-the-mill storm.

5 out of 5 stars Nice Weather Radio   July 11, 2008

We decided to get a weather radio after we slept through a tornado warning. I like that you can program the radio to sound alerts for only things we are concerened about. The other nice thing is that you can choose what counties you want to get alerts for. The radio only took about 20 minutes to program. We have had it go off a couple of times and it works well. We think it was a good purchase.
