do not buy this product. July 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Dear Garmin GPS Owners,
I bought the City Navigator a month ago. One CD is good for only one device. I drive about 150 miles everyday. Sometimes I cross to other states, but there is not much change or different. There is little bit updated. I know I just waited my money for that GPS software. If you have much money, I recommend you buy it.
Excellent program but better directions would be helpful July 22, 2008 The program takes a LONG time to install, and the installer only will work when the NUVI is connected to your computer. It SHOULD go ahead and install the Mapsource update to your computer as well, but wouldn't for me. After going to tech service a couple of times, I finally learned that to install to my computer I had to use Windows Explorer, go to R:\Windows\MSI and run the file CNNaNT2009update_enu.msi (R: is my DVD drive, "enu" in the file name apparently is for English US). That did it quickly and neatly. Don't know why the installer won't do that.
Worth the wait July 22, 2008 Install was lengthy, but was worth the wait. Enhancements are great. Much clearer speaking the roads to turn onto and much more accurate for restaurants, etc.
Garmin Update July 22, 2008 If you want to keep your GPS up to date, this is what you need. It's too bad there are no other ways to update the maps.
Maps are fine. POI's are not up-to-date July 20, 2008 The maps seem to be pretty good but Garmin still refuses to do a good job of updating the POIs. I was hoping that this update would add the recently contructed roads and also remove old POIs and add the new ones. I don't think it did anything with the POIs. If Garmin isn't going to update them then they should give the consumer a way to add their own and to categorize them so that they can be looked up in the same manner as the current preloaded POIs.
