Love it! July 2, 2008 I have used this to laminate photos, ID cards, important papers, etc. I have never had any trouble with it. I think it's a great laminator, esp for the price.

This isn't the most expensive laminator out there, but that being said, I have laminated several things with this little machine. You must use a carrier with this machine, which it doesn't sound like the other reviewer did. One time I used it, the carrier became stuck. But, my husband was able to take the machine apart get it out and put it back together. I then proceeded to use it just fine. I believe my problem is that the carrier I purchased is too thick for the machine. I just found out that it takes a maximum 5 mil pouch/carrier size. I just used the carrier that came with the laminating pouches I bought. I made my own carrier by using inserting the laminating pouch between 2 pieces of card stock paper. This worked great, but the card stock was a little smaller than my pouches so I had to trim them. I will be purchasing the correct size carrier and laminating like crazy! This is a good little laminator for someone who laminates things occasionally. I wouldn't use in a commercial type setting. It probably wouldn't hold up to that type of use, but for me I love it! In fact, I just made my dad some photo bookmarks for Christmas! They look professional!
Used it once before having to trash it December 27, 2006 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was excited about my purchase, seeing as I got it for a good deal from Staples. I tried it for the first time, to laminate my insurance card. I turned it on and had it warm up. Then I let the sleeve with the insurance card inside run through. Great I thought. Then it happened- the machine ran it back through the machine and the card disappeared. It had gotten wrapped around the rollars inside.
I unplugged it and had to wait for it to cool, then I took the outer covering apart, and removed some of the aluminum casing(what a pain), to get to the rollars, and saw my insurance card wrapped up in the rollars, virtually destroyed.
I then attempted to put the machine back together, and after two hours trying, I had to give up and throw the entire machine away.
That was my experience. If you buy this thing- don't let it run the card through a second time!!
