Amazon.com Product Description The Health-o-Meter HAP200KD-41 Professional Dial Scale features an exclusive split mat design that ensures stability and provides more foot room than most scales. With the oversized, 7-inch dial you won't have any trouble reading your weight -- no matter how tall you are. This scale is constructed to accurately measure weight up to 400 pounds and it is backed by a five-year limited warranty. This scale features a large, 7-inch dial. View larger. | Operating the Scale Place the scale on flat, level surface. A hard surface, such as a tile or linoleum floor, is the best for maximum accuracy. If the scale is placed on a very soft, deep rug, then it may not produce accurate results. Once the scale is placed on an appropriate surface, locate the zero adjustment control on the edge of the scale and set the indicator to zero. Next, step on and off the scale to check the accuracy of the zero setting. If the pointer does not return to zero, then you should repeat the zero adjustment. When the zero setting is deemed accurate, step on the scale and position your feet to distribute your weight evenly over the entire scale platform. Stand still while reading the display for the most accurate results. Note: It is normal for your weight to vary during the day, and from one day to another. Slight changes in your weight are generally considered normal. What's in the Box HAP200KD-41 professional dial scale and warranty.

Large but good quality June 20, 2008 This is a large scale that takes up a bit of floor space but it is more reliable than any digital scale I've ever had. It's very helpful to put a strip of sticky note or colored tape on the scale where you put your heels so that you are able to stand in exactly the same place every time you step on, because your position on the scale can make your weight reading vary by up to 4 pounds. I'm not looking for absolute accuracy, but consistency is important. As long as you're standing in the same spot on the scale the readings are very consistent. When you step off the scale make sure the dial goes back to zero. It's easy to adjust. I'd recommend this scale to everyone.
soso June 10, 2008 Have to keep adjusting the scale to zero. This can become a pain in the neck at times. But it does the correct weight.
Limitations of spring-scale technology June 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I usually weigh myself on the doctor's scale at the gym, and I guess I had forgotten the limitations of spring-scale technology. The HAP200KD-41 is sturdy, the dial is easy to read, but the reading can fluctuate by 2 lb or more if you shift your stance. Very annoying when you are trying to monitor weight loss that is probably in the 2 lb per week range. I gave up and bought a digital, having realized that digital technology has improved greatly since I last tried it in a bathroom scale.
Very, Very Good: Accurate, Durable June 3, 2008 I've had this scale for almost a year and it's still just as good as it was when I bought it. I know it's accurate because it gives me the same weight as all the scales at the doctor's office. It is big, but it's sturdy! It's not heavy though. It's a very nice quality. With other spring scales, the numbers on the display are usually too small to read (i'm 5'8 so i have a long way to look!) but with this one i can see it perfectly well. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an accurate, durable scale.
Great analog scale May 30, 2008 This scale is accurate, consistent, and easy to read. The tick marks are small but are not hard to make out. The adjuster works pretty well and seems flawless after two or three cycles of adjustment and testing. After the initial calibration, I didn't have to fool with the adjustment knob at all. I would buy this scale all over again and recommend it to a friend.
