Amazon.com Product Description The Belkin WaveRest Gel-Filled Cushion Rest Pad gives your wrists plenty of ergonomic support through a wave design that permits natural hand and wrist movements. The gel cushion creates contours that fit to the curves of your wrists and provides support as well. Because it isn't attached to a mouse pad, you can move it wherever you'd like on your desk and use it for other purposes too. The lightweight, durable design stands up to years of use.

A good purchase for the price August 25, 2008 A pretty good product for the price. I have no complaints since I bought it. Gives my wrists good support while typing on my keyboard (in a neutral position, not the raised one) and also gives support to my elbows while i want to plop my head on my hand while reading long documents. So, it has been a hidden savior for my elbows by keeping them off the hard table surface. Other than that, I gave it 4 stars because of the shape. The curve which you can see on the picture is actually facing you, whereas I think it should be facing away from you so that it can fit in the groove of your keyboard between the CTRL key and the arrow buttons so it would be a snugger fit. But it's not at all a disadvantage and I wouldn't use that reason to keep me from ordering this product again. Also, the smell that everyone keeps mentioning about is pretty strong when you open the package, but it dissipated within the hour. So, no other complaints and am very satisfied with it.
The reason I don't have carpel tunnel syndrome... August 12, 2008 Gel-filled wrist rests are awesome!
I use my PC for about 2-4 hours per day - over the past 15 or so years. I never have any problem with wrist fatigue or pain!
Couple this with a gel-filled mouse pad, and you're good to go!
I like it! Needs a bit of work, but I like it. August 8, 2008 I have a Microsoft keyboard with the "wave" design. This wrist rest pad didn't work well with it in the normal position because of the straight edge on that side so I turned it around so the wave on the wrist rest pad was the mirror image of the wave of the keyboard. That worked alright but worked even better when I took a utility knife and cut away the excess fabric on the wave side so there would be a more snug fit between the keyboard and wrist pad. The excess fabric wasn't missed at all and didn't harm the wrist pad, it just had the company's advertising printed on it.
So, this product gets an extra star from me for the flexibility it has to work with both a straight-edged keyboard and a wave-shaped keyboard.
As for the job it does in providing comfort, it stands out there too. Very comfortable, the right amount of support and height and a comfortable padding that molds to your wrists. It has a rubber backing like the sole of your favorite pair of sneakers and a good, heavy weight to it so it doesn't easily slide around or fall off the keyboard tray while in use.
My only complaint with it is the extremely strong chemical smell it has. If you've experienced the smell of those memory foam mattresses or pillows, this has a similarly strong chemical smell. I've had the wrist rest pad for 3 weeks now and it still has a strong smell that you are very aware of while sitting at the computer. It is slowly dissapating, but right now, it still has a stank. If you can endure the stank, you'll like the comfort this product gives.
bad shape August 6, 2008 Why is it shaped so there is little or no support for the right wrist? I would recommend getting something else. This support is just not useful - apparently the person who designed this must type with one hand. If it was not such a hassle to return the item to Amazon I would.
smells horrible August 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
the gel pad works great, and i am very pleased with the comfort it gives.
However, the thing smells REALLY bad. its like a burnt rubber and paint combo. I cracked it open and used it for about half an hour and started feeling really sick and got a headache. I highly recommend airing this thing out for a few days or something before you use it. This has to be against some sort of safety or hazardous inspections. this is not your ordinary smell.
