Amazon.com Product Description Canon's compact LS82Z calculator provides a range of functions for quick calculations and easy figuring of finances. It's an ideal tool for home, office, and school, providing all the basics of calculation: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, constant multiplication, division and percentage calculations, percentage add-on, and discount calculations. The extra-large LCD display is angled to improve desktop viewing and to reduce glare and eyestrain; the numbers look crisp even in low light. Special function keys and a comfortable keyboard design, with large bold colors, also increase your speed and accuracy. The LS82Z measures approximately 3.5 by 4.5 by 2.25 inches and features an automatic power selection that shifts between solar and battery power as needed.

Battery Please April 22, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is nice, but I have yet to find the alkaline battery this requires. I have been to 2 stores and they didn't have the particular kind needed. So if you want to use it right away, don't order it. But if you don't mind driving around to find the battery it needs, then it is probably fine. I should have just driven to a store to get a calculator with a battery.
Perfect desk companion February 9, 2008 I had a need for a solar calculator that did not take up space but at the same time was not too small. I like the display angle. It's the perfect basic calculator. I would have given it five stars but for the fact that the On/C button would have been better placed if it was the first one in the column and not the second.
User-friendly! February 5, 2008 The designers at Canon responsible for this product appear to have actually used a calculator before. This product is thoughtfully designed and ergonomically appropriate. The battery back-up is great for low-light conditions and works seamlessly (if you happen to be "ciphering" and walking at the same time). Highly recommended!
Canon LS82Z Calculator January 14, 2008 The product is functioning just as good, so far, as the Texas Instruments TI-1795SV calculator which I also own. It has basically the same functions but with a little smaller footprint and quite a few dollars cheaper.
Great calculator, but..... December 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really like it, but I really notice how much I miss haveing a "change sign" button (the +/- that changes a positive number to a negative and vice versa). I'd give this calculator a 4.5 star if it had that.
