Product Description JVC HANC100 Noise-Canceling Headphones - JVC HANC100 is a noise-canceling headphone that can produce a 75% noise reduction when in the active mode. It also operates for 50 hours on one AAA Battery. It also has a cord rewind system, so that it will retract its 4.9 foot cord into its left earpiece. And to make it easy to travel the HANC100 folds down into a compact size and comes with a airplane adapter and a carry pouch. And when you are not traveling the HANC100 can be used in the passive mode for great performance at home. So don't blast your ears by raising the volume. Reduce the background noise so you can listen comfortably - virtually anywhere. Retractable 4.9 foot cord system with rewind button L mini pin with airplane adapter Left and right ear indicators 50 hours of use on one AAA battery (included)

I wouldn't fly without them September 22, 2008 It was a real improvement for my flying experience. Really cut engine and cabin noise. I won't fly without them.
Good Value & Effective August 25, 2008 Well packaged product; works well in airplanes to reduce (not eliminate) the constant buzz from the engines. Good sound quality from my iPod. Very comfortable even on long flights.
So uncomfortable I didn't even bother to try the sound! August 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had read quite a few reviews on Amazon about these headphones and they seemed like the right ones, but the moment I got them out of the box and on my head I knew I was going to return them.
The glaring design problem which JVC should beat themselves with rusty chains for is the total lack of cushioning on the folding headband. I couldn't keep them on my head for more than a minute before they started to irritate my skin. Granted, my hair is short and receding, but NO CUSHIONING AT ALL?! We're not with nerve endings, JVC!!
The second issue is that the earcups did not fit over my ears, but rather quashed them against my head. I'm fortunate in that my ears are don't stick out hardly at all, but still, it's not a comfortable feeling to have them clamped against my skull. The sensation was not unlike a vise with a little padding.
Finally, the rewind function of the headphone is a cute trick, but it's much smaller than a regular cord. That alone was cause for me to worry that all I'd have to do is catch it once on something and it would tear right out.
I'm going back to Best Buy and try the Philipps HN110's!

You get what you pay for July 17, 2008 These headphones produce not bad sound quality, but they are not comfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes. Noise canceling works only for low frequencies and in the same time add some noise on high frequencies (i.e. in a quiet room I hear more noise when noise canceling turned on)
Great Headphone but can still hear some noises July 2, 2008 Works great but not nearly as good as the BOSE quality one, but I guess you get what you pay for. Blocks out the very loud noise but not to the mute level.
