 Solid product July 23, 2008
I purchased this to backup my PC and access from a laptop. This hard drive is made very well, feels solid in the hand and is a convenient size (whiskey flask). The only demerit is that in the case of my laptop, I had to plug both USB cable terminations (it comes with a Y USB cable and one marked with a lightning symbol) into the laptop to get enough power to run it. When I used a single cable, the drive made a scary screeching noise. Otherwise it has worked beautifully so far. Recommended.

I purchased this product so that I could set up a complete backup of my pc and also have additional storage for pictures. The Iomega drive worked as advertised. It was easy to set up. The software made it easy to set up complete and incremental backups. I only needed to use one USB slot to power the drive for my Dell laptoo. A "Y" plug is included to provide additional power for those who need it.

If I can, I give -5 to this piece of junk. This is my worst purchase of the year. Just don't work. I just do the long list that Iomega recomend and nothing. This is my first and last time that bought an Iomega product.

The eGo 250GB USB Hard disk is a solid little unit. The Cherry version is sleek and attractive. I have 3 of these now, and performance has been flawless.
Pros: Solid reliable performance, rugged, fast, attractive, gets power from USB cable, affordable
Cons: Activity LED indicator is recessed and difficult to see.
