Item is Not as Advertised May 12, 2008

The product description says that this item has a "super-fast 1 to 3 hour charging time." However, the product manual clearly says it will take "8 hours" to charge the batteries included. Even charging the smallest capacity batteries will take "4.5-6.5 hours"--falling far short of the advertised 1-3 hour charging time. It terminates charging by timer control or "by manual" which is not explained but I'm guessing means you have to remember to unplug it at the right time. It cannot be left plugged in and the batteries cannot be left in the charger. I bought five of these for our school, and am very disappointed in the product. We will unfortunately have to absorb original shipping costs, return shipping, and shipping costs for a different product from another vendor. Beware!
