Works beautifully, every time.
BUT, can be quite confusing to set up.
I am generally satisfied with its use.
Doesn't work well with Firefox June 8, 2008

The Microsoft fingerprint reader works just great as a convenience with Internet Explorer. The problem is that I rarely use IE. It does not work well with Firefox. There is add on software to let it work with Firefox but it's not well integrated and doesn't always work as it should.
If you are using Internet Explorer it is great, if not then it's not really worth the effort to install it.

I bought one of these only to discover it is NOT vista 64bit compatble. It will only work on vista 32bit...no plans for 64bit support ever. Mine sits in a file cabinet with the useless software. I don't plan to buy any more microsoft branded hardware. They don't stand behind their products.
