Product Description The D-Link Wireless N USB Adapter (DWA-130) provides a better wireless signal for your computer than existing wireless 802.11g technology. Adding Wireless N to your computer provides an excellent solution for doing everyday activities such as transferring files, browsing the Internet, and downloading music. D-Link Wireless N products use Intelligent Antenna technology to transmit multiple streams of data which enable you to receive wireless signals in the farthest corners of your home. Not only does D-Link's Wireless N technology extend your wireless range, it also works with your existing 802.11g and 802.11b wireless routers and access points.

First generation wireless N adapter. Claims Vista compliant but read the fine print. August 27, 2008 Found a lot of installation issues. You may have to read the d-link websites for new drivers and if you use Vista you will have to dig more. It's a wireless N but very basic. I would say it's a first class generation wireless N adapter.
I get 130-150mbs speeds, but it gets hot! August 9, 2008 What can I say, it works as advertised. Installation was simple: pop in the driver CD and begin installation. When prompted, plug in the adapter. Mine connected as soon as the installation was complete. After setting up WPA on the router, I plugged in the security key and reconnected. I did notice after a couple hours of use, the adapter was hot to the touch. I dont know what that means for its longevity. If it runs that hot all the time, it might break sooner rather than later.
My only other beef is that there's nowhere to store the cap. It would've been cool if there was a lanyard or if you could put the cap at the back of the adapter like a pen. As it is, it could easily get lost. It's a minor annoyance and it doesn't affect the functionality, but I think dlink should consider this for their next version.
Bottom line: it does what it claims in a pretty package. I get 130mbs connections consistently. That's more than twice my old adapter/router combination. Fyi, I also bought the dlink dir-655. Beware, the usb adapter does get hot.
Works Just Fine July 31, 2008 I have been using this for about a month now, and it is working just fine. I had a little difficulty getting it set up, but despite being told that the connection was not established, once I rebooted it worked without any problems.
Also, even though it works with Vista, it did not come with any of the necessary software. It was, however, easy to download it from the D-Link web site.
be careful, not compatible with vista x64 July 23, 2008 though it doesn't say so on the page, this is Revision A of this model, meaning that it is not compatible with Windows Vista x64 edition. Unfortunately I ordered this before finding out. I'm sure it works dece once you get the right revision though...

Good but has one problem..... July 22, 2008 I have had no drop outs and the speed is very good. However, this thing burns like the sun. Who woulda thought a USB device could get this hot.
