Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The reader is designed with a USB connector and a memory expansion slot that accepts a microSD card. Combine it with a microSD card and you've got the best mobile gear for your phone. This mobile-ready reader eliminates the need to carry additional USB transfer cables and the typical wait for Bluetooth technology slow file transfers between phones and PCs. It also replaces your SD card adapter, since the microSD card fits directly into the reader. When in use, the microSD Card Reader appears as a drive letter (i.e., E:\) and data transfer is as simple as drag and drop. Use the reader with a microSD card to get the storage capacity for a variety of helpful transfers, or acquire content to side load to your phone:Store your entire mobile life - photos, songs, text messages, video clips, personal information - on a microSD card, then work with it across device platforms seamlessly with the microSD Card Reader.

5 out of 5 stars Kingston - What more can you say?   June 14, 2008
This is consistent with Kingston's usual quality. What I really like about this is that it is tiny. With the growing array of cords, adapters, and other stuff I carry around with me, it is nice to have a product that takes up only slighly more space than a cough drop in my little tote bag (who are we kidding, I know its a man-purse, but I'm not gonna call it that). If you need a USB Micro SD reader, this is the way to go.

4 out of 5 stars Works but awkward   June 2, 2008
The product works fine, however its a bit awkward at first inserting the reader into a usb slot, it also feels a bit fragile at times.

However the reader itself works wonderfully, reads the micro-sd cards fine, with a high read/write speed.

Not much more to say about, if you need a simple micro-sd card reader, there is no reason not to buy this product.

5 out of 5 stars Very Cool!! This should replace all old school USB drives   November 20, 2007
I have two of these, they are VERY cool! Tough and simple. I toss the outer shell with the lanyard, insert my card (2G are fairly cheap now) and put it in my wallet along with a few micro cards. Imo it's so much better to have a teeny reader or two and micro cards VS carrying full size reader(s). And you'll never be without it because you always carry your wallet. Flash drives have a high failure rate, so I'd much rather have four 2G micro cards in my wallet than a regular size 8G thumb drive... I keep a backup of the most important stuff right there in my wallet too! Oh, and with an SD card adaptor I have these micro cards in my camera, voice recorder, etc.. My cell takes micro too, so I'm micro chipped all the way around now, take a pix w/ my camera or cell, and a minute later it's on my computer getting photoshopped! Sweet.....

The only other USB toy I like better is the A Data micro reader, it's less than 1/2 the size, but a more $. Same deal; toss the outer shell/lanyard and put in my wallet. I have one of these Kingston readers and two A Data readers in my wallet. When I pull them out, everyone wants to get one.

And of course there are all kinds of cool programs that will run directly from it. I can use a friends computer to burn CD/DVD's, "back-up" and compress music or movies, run Word, Excel etc, all without installing a thing on his/her computer. Plus all kinds of rescue software to help out whoever who computer is broke or infected, and from anywhere at anytime :) Ok, enough soapbox, just buy it!

1 out of 5 stars No longer works!   November 14, 2007

Not much else to say - Used it when I first recieved it; it worked well several times. Kept it on my desk, and now a couple of months later does not work at all (cards double checked and are OK, and tried on three different computers) BEWARE!
