4 out of 5 stars Large memory size makes it slow.   October 12, 2008
I boughtt this SD card and reader to use for my remote surveillance camera videos. It had no problems with capturing tthe video nor playing them back . The large capacity made it possible to keep larger files, which translates into higher quality videos.

I did notice, however, that despite the fact that it worked flawlessly in the camera and computer, the speed of transfer was slower than other cards I tried in the same reader. Just by rough estimate this card transferred a little less than 1 meg/second. My other cards did about twice that. Add to this the huge capacity and you'll find that filling the full 16Gigs from scratch will be a time consuming activity. Otherwise, this card seems perfectly suited to the task I need it for.

3 out of 5 stars Not as advertised   October 12, 2008
This item consists 2 pieces - 16 Gb SD card and USB card reader. However, the shipped card reader is not as described (transcend brand), it is OEM in which quality and time of service is questionable.

5 out of 5 stars The transcend 16GB   October 6, 2008
I have all my importan documents on one place, the transcend 16GB easy to keep, read and the most importan, they are secure.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing storage capacity   October 6, 2008
We are taking pictures nonstop and glad we haven't even come close to "disk full" like our old chip. Just note, that given the robust capacity, sometimes difficult to offload in any computer store given the mammoth capacity of this card and high byte capacity.

4 out of 5 stars Plenty of space, low cost... great buy!   October 6, 2008
I purchased the Transcend because I wanted to test the speed compared to my Sandisk Extreme III (until now I was a loyal Sandisk customer, but the prices are too high compared to competition). I used the 16gb Transcend 133x in my Canon EOS 1D Mark III, fine jpeg, at 10fps and I didn't see much of a difference in the write speed, if any. I did see a small difference in the read speed when copying files from my card to my Mac Pro...but not enough of a difference to warrant it being triple the cost. I see no reason to spend the extra $$ on Sandisk and will start using Transcend. Don't get me wrong, I do own a $4500 camera and a $5000 Mac Pro, so spending money for better products is something I'm very willing to do, but I just can't justify it in this case.
