Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Smartparts SP8EM 8" Dark Wood Digital Picture Frame is a better way to view digital pictures. It looks like the old-fashion picture frame is slowly becoming obsolete. Prints are being replaced by digital images that are meant to be seen, not held. I guess that means photo albums are also doomed for obsolescence. The SP8EM has a large, 8" color LCD screen that displays pics straight from the memory card from your camera at resolutions of 800x600. 128MB internal memory lets you store a series of photos to create slideshows. View and control your frame from across the room with handy (included) remote control. This is the way to appreciate your pictures for the 21st century. Remote Control Built-In Speakers Slide Show Mode Portrait or Landscape display capability with Position Sensor Detachable and Extendable Stand USB Connectivity AC Adapter Included USB Cable Included

5 out of 5 stars Great product with very good resolution   August 10, 2008
This product works well with vivid colors and high resolution (note that these photo frames vary in resolution - the higher the better). The controls are easy to use via the remote. I use the random display function which does not seem to be completely random but still works well. This size frame is best for a desk or end/coffee table. For something placed on a mantle across the room I would recommend a larger size.

5 out of 5 stars Dependable Memories   August 7, 2008
I have now bought 4 different model Smartparts digital photo frames with about the same pixel ratings, and all are excellent. The first one is on a Coast Guard ship in the Bering Stait and keeps family and friends close to the heart. It has played non stop since 1/08. Since this unit came aboard, many were impressed and bought them for themselves. The second one is in an office building, same age, same usage. never problems. The rest are since then. The pictures are clear, the unit is well lit and very easy to start up. I use a digital card so that I can keep lots of memories handy, rather than using the internal memory. I just copy pictures from my camera, scanner or the computer into a folder, copy that to the SD card, insert it into the frame and let the smiles begin! I had tried a smaller 7 " but found that unless I was close, I could not see it as easily as the 8" with my middle aged eyes! Non of us have chosen to add music, so the sound quality is uncertain. This is a great gift and presents as a nice product as well. Very dependable...better than human memory!! You WILL enjoy it.

5 out of 5 stars Beyond my expectations!   August 1, 2008
Picture quality is very good. Set up a snap. Options galore for viewng. MP3 is added extra.

5 out of 5 stars Everything It's Advertised To Be   June 22, 2008
I recently purchased this frame based on other reviews that I read; and it has lived up to everyone's praises. It's extremely easy to set up; especially if you have your pictures on a flash drive. Just plug it in the USB port and the slide show begins. Adding your pictures takes a little longer than that; since copying to the internal memory isn't very speedy; however, again, it's not complicated. The slide show options are ample and the picture quality is excellent.

I am very happy with this purchase and I will purchase it again to give as gifts. I'm sure you'll be as happy as me once you make your purchase of this frame!

3 out of 5 stars Good, but?   June 21, 2008
I received this product yesterday, and was quite happy to set it up and get it started. I was able to transfer the pictures from my camera to the frame, but had trouble transferring pictures (my son's wedding pictures) from the computer to the frame. I was really looking forward to having them on the frame. It may be because I am not all that great with electronic equipment. Or there may be some glitch between software. Anyway, I plan to enlist the aid of my daughter (a true techie) to help me out when she comes to visit for the 4th of July w/e. The delivery was fine--(except it took a while to get it), but it was in good shape and I am glad it has a remote. For me the size is fine. I have it on an end table in the living room. I might have to revise this review if my daughter also has a problem with transferring the pictures from the computer to the digital frame. I am holding onto the box and all, in case I end up returning it.
