speed tests April 17, 2008 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This card is speedy enough for my tastes. Shooting w/ my Nikon D70s in burst mode: I can record 3fps (frames per second) in raw for the first four shots and average 1.5 sec between shots thereafter (by comparison, my extreme IV 2 GB card gets 5 shots off at 3fps and averages 1.0 sec between additional shots). If I shoot with the transcend card in the maximum jpeg setting the results are even better: 3fps for the first 11 shots and 0.9 sec between shots thereafter.
I was able to read 786mb off the card in 48sec (51sec with extreme IV) using my sandisk extreme usb reader. Writing 786mb to the card from my computer (which I never do) was, however, slow: 105sec compared to 57sec with extreme IV.
Excellent card! April 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this card to use with a Canon Digital Rebel XT DSLR. It can hold up to 900 images at 8.2 megapixel in the RAW format. The camera has no problems accessing the memory card. Its quick and problem free. This compact flashcard is a great value. It is much cheaper then any other comparable card. You should have no issues with this card, worked like a champ for me.
cheap, but slow April 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These cards are cheap. But they are also pretty slow. I don't think they are really 133x. I tried them in my Sony Alpha, and this card seems even slower than SanDisk ultra 2, which is a 66x CF card. Anyhow, it is still a good bargain, 8GB for that price.
Reliable, speedy, great price, lots of room, remarkable value April 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Been using this Transcend 8GB 133x in my Canon 40D. I shoot raw all the time, and this card is plenty fast...in the camera and transferring to MacBook Pro. Has performed flawlessly in the two months I've had it while shooting 1000s of images. Been very busy (shooting and otherwise) so right now I have my 8GB, 4GB, and 2GB cards full, and have not had time to B/U them to two external HDs before clearing the CF cards. Down to my 1GB, so I ordered two more Transcend 8GB 133x so this won't happen again. What a deal!
Fast - Huge - Inexpensive March 11, 2008 I'd never heard of this brand before I purchased the card but now i'd swear by it. It's really fast and I can take 10.1 Megapixel pictures for weeks without having to empty it. If you run Vista make sure that you have the most recent updates and patches because it tends to cause problems if you don't. I also suggest some sort of recovery software just in case your computer or camera decides to lose your pictures. They're still on the card and very easy to recover. GREAT CARD. WORKS WELL WITH ALL EXISTING TECHNOLOGY.
