soft case for nikon d80 October 9, 2008 Good protection for camera but where do you put it when using camera. It doesn't attach to camera so you're left "holding the bag" when using camera.
PERFECT case!!! September 21, 2008 I love this case as it suits my needs perfectly allowing me to take this large camera with me without any extra bulk. Therefore, I'm taking my camera more places since I got this case!! My main outfit fits in it: Nikon D80+ 18-200mm lens mounted + Filter attached, and the hood turned upside down. I love that this case has no strap of its own, rather it makes use of the strap that's already on the camera. So smart. So perfect!
I'd originally purchased a bigger bag, but find that completely unneccesary. Wish I bought this one first.
Generally good, but not heavy duty September 10, 2008 This case is good if you just want to walk around with your camera and keep dust off of it and general light-duty usage. However, it's about twice as thick as a backpack and has velcro closure and thus should not be used for anything heavy duty. If you want something really padded that would protect your instruments if you dropped them (from a low height, of course) or bumped into something with a little bit of force, this isn't the case for you. I bought a 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX lens as well and that attached to my Nikon D80 fit in here just fine.
Compact and easy packing/unpacking August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Because I use the D80 with only one lens (18-135), I didn't need a large gadget bag. I looked at other (Lowepro) mini bags, but the ones I tried in the store had zippers, and this slows you down when packaging/unpacking. Those bags also have a separate strap and I wanted to use the strap on the D80 itself.
The CF-D80 has velcro for closing, and doesn't come with a separate strap. It just wraps around the camera, and there is a little loop so it stays attached to the camera strap when you open the case. It's really convenient. Minor detail: if that loop had been a bit bigger, it would slide on the nikon strap more easily, but it's ok as it is. The case stays close to the camera which makes packing up faster that way.
Overall it has less padding than the minibags or gadget bags, but it works well for me and rather 'civilized' use (I'm not climbing or hiking with it).
All in all, the perfect case for regular use.
Compact and Protective ! July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This semi soft case is compact and can hold Nikon D80+ 18-200mm lens mounted + Filter attached. I would recommend this. Natraj Krishnakumar
