Good idea, but poorly executed. January 18, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this belt with all the acccessories and extras. First off, Tamrac makes EXCELLENT bags, but this falls far short of their normal standards. This unit consists of two parts, a support pad, and a web belt. The belt is extremely flimsy, and frankly is incapable of supporting any amount of weight beyond one or two of the light accessory pouches. I wound up replacing it with a "duty belt" purchased in an Army surplus store. The pad, while a good idea, also falls short. It too is far too flimsy, and really serves no purpose beyond protecting you against the sharp edges of the belt. An optional shoulder harness is also available, but isn't worth it either. It uses a poorly designed attachment system that consists of nylon loops that go around the belt and pad. If you add any weight to this system, the nylon loops cause the belt and pad to buckle and sag. You are FAR better off buying a military duty belt (in black), with the shoulder harness at an Army Surplus store for FAR less money! All the MAS accessories fit it perfectly.
