Sorta pricey, but very nice!! April 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These tripod legs are awesome! I can get just inches off the ground and maintain full stability with my 40D and heavier lenses without tripod collars like the 24-70L. Of course, using a telephoto lens like the 70-200 F2.8L is also no problem since the weight is a little more distributed between front and back. I was a little skeptical at first considering the price if I would need all the features the 055XPROB provides, but after using it for a month, I couldn't imagine anything less.
Sturdy, dependable tripod February 22, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Bought this tripod after a disastrous day with a tripod which flexed and caused many soft shots. When this came out of the box it seemed like it weighed a ton. After a couple of days' use, it now feels solid and comfortable, like an old friend. Very stable, easy to set up and use. Would be a bit much for hiking, but does the job I bought it for, and seems less heavy as time goes on. Highly recommend.

No habia encontrado un tripode tan versatil y seguro como este. Me ha gustado mucho por su arquitectura y las diferentes cobinaciones que puedes hacer con el. La estructura y los materiales de fabricacion son de primera calidad y el peso es muy ligero.
A Great, Very Sturdy Tripod January 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great tripod for the price. It's sturdy, versitile and very steady. The legs don't splay when fully extended, even on slick surfaces. The tilting center column works easily and adds the ability to get close to objects I can't reach with a standard column.
Cons: It's a bit heavy for a travel tripod, and the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating is that the center column cannot be angled when it's in the horizontal position. There is one other tripod that does allow the column to be angled while it's in the horizontal position, but it's also a bit more expensive.
Solid, Professional, Easy to Use January 12, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I use this tripod with the Bogen-Manfrotto 322RC2 horizontal grip action ball. I am very pleased with this combination. The combo is heavy, but that is exactly what I want. It is easy and fast to set up and take down. Adjustments are easy and convenient. If I'm traveling for pleasure and flying commercial airlines then I probably will take along a more compact and lighter tripod. If I'm traveling and need the best exposures then I will take this tripod. If I'm driving I will always take this tripod. I've used other tripods and there are some good ones out there, but this is the one I intentionally purchased and use. I am very happy with this tripod combo.
