So far a brilliant memory card, but get a new SDHC card reader July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

This memory card was definitely the right one for me to buy. But do not get one unless you also get a new (or have a) compatible SDHC USB card reader.
I very often use both film and picture mode when I use my new camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5A: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011Z6D9U/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title).
Recording film fills up a lot of space on the memory card, and buying an 8GB card allows me to use both modes frequently. I filled this card in 3 busy weeks of vacation! Only about 400 pictures, the rest was film.
Using the camera to transfer pictures to the computer took hours! Using a new SDHC-compatible card reader made the transfer to an even older computer many times faster! it took less than half an hour compared to over three h by the cable that came with the camera.
Without timing the seconds and minutes exact, I guess the difference is between 6-10 times using a proper card-reader to any older built in USB access. Go for the card, but get a proper card-reader and good luck.
its everything I wanted it from it July 26, 2008 product worked right of the box for my canon sd1100. its pretty quick on transfers to my computer, and had enough storage to capture my 400 images and countless videos during my trip to europe recently. ive only had the product for 2 weeks. be warned that some older card readers cant read this card so a newer reader might be needed, usually you could just connect your camera to the computer via usb and transfer through your camera while the card is still in the camera (this is my workaround). ill buy again in full confidence, especially for this price.
Best cost effective class 6 card July 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did research about different class 6 cards and how cost effective they are, and zeroed down on this one. Sandisk was another option, but it was too costly for the similar size(GB) card
Works as advertised July 26, 2008 What can I say? it works well. Price is good and Amazon seems delivers on time and on schedule. Thanks Amazon!
Great stuff! July 26, 2008 Great performance and terrific speed. I'm shooting videos in 16:9 HD mode and this guys is keeping up with the pace at which data has to be stored in it. Incidentally, I am using it in a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 which probably does not compress data on HD shooting. All it is giving me is about 11 minutes of shooting on an 8GB card. Sustaining 8GB of data throughput in 11 minutes is terrific performance!
