 special use for a pipe smoker December 21, 2007

This item was probably overkill for me, but I'm lazy. I smoke pipes and when I'm in my comfy chair, I don't want to have to get up to turn on my vent fan (Honeywell window 2-way fan... see my good review for that item) if it isn't already on for some reason.
With this little gadget, I can turn it on and off anytime I want to light up, so I don't have to get up.
Works great, but of course I'm using it indoors.
 Remote Stopped Working After a Week- Batteries? December 12, 2007
Had it on the Xmas tree as it was hard to get to the plug. It stopped working with the remote. It is probably the battery but it was only hooked up a week- not good.
Excellent Remote Switch December 12, 2007
This is the best remote switch that I have ever used. I am a professional photographer and I use these remote switches to turn on and off my remote flash units. These units work every time and have excellent range. It's an excellent product at a great price. Much better than X10 and radio shack junk.

So lazy i am that i ended up buying this to use it indoors for my tube light. It works like a charm, never gave me any problems. I even tried controlling it from the next room and also from outside the house and it was still able to receive the requests. The only problem is, once in a while i lose the remote and would have to manually remove the kit from the power outlet to use the lights, it wouldh've been nice if they provided with an on/off switch on the receiver too. Otherwise, the product works as stated in the description.

I used this for my outside Christmas lights, and it worked fine for ONLY ONE WEEK! It stopped working today. I tried changing the battery, but it still won't work. Based on another review I just read, I wonder if it quit working because the temperature dropped into the 30's today, and this remote control doesn't work in cold weather...?
