 not the best July 16, 2008
I have had this phone for about 5 months. I insisted on a sony ericsson since I loved my last sony ericsson phone. However, I was foolish enough to pay $225.00 with a new 2 year contract at ATT. The biggest problems with this phone are that 3 keys are cracked in half, the battery life isn't very long, it often echoes your own voice back to you and it stores about 3 pictures without an added memory card (my last phone held hundreds). Needless to say I am very disappointed.

This was my first 'slider' phone. At first, it was a good phone. Then after about one month it started to delay after clicking buttons. The buttons are very flimsy. The phone then started to shut off for no reason (the battery was charged!) The phone is also very delicate and cannot withstand hard falls. I dropped it once and the screen broke.
Overall it looks good, but its performance is lacking. The only thing that was neat (i don't know how accurate) was the pedometer.

this phone has amazing sound & sounds similar to my ipod when i play it. also the screen has great resolution so my pictures are really cute. BUT as a phone its sucks! the buttons fall off, it will randomly stop getting service, only sends text every once in awhile. i live it the city where there are plenty of cell phone towers & there is always static in my conversations. why not just get another one you say?...because this is my 3rd w580i. i have had 2 others that had a completely different set of problems! unfortunately im in a 2 year contract so i will go back to my trusty razr!!!!

I've had my Walkman for 6 months now and I'm very happy with it. This is the best phone I've used, it has good reception in low signal areas, the camera takes good pictues and video, the MP3 player and FM radio features are a plus, and battery life is good. This phone has alot more features that are also usefull. The slider concept is much easier to use than a flip. Don't put much emphasis on the negative comments you'll read in some of the other reviews, this is a good all around phone.

ok this phone has MANY bad things about it
battery life=HORRIBLE after about one or two long phone calls its dead. i text ALOT and if you do also this phine IS NOT FOR YOU!another thing on texting i that if you text alot then you may notice that the buttons will crack or split down the middle. this does not affect how you text but it does make your phone look "cheap".sometimes when you plug your phone charger in you will notice that the phone is not charging. this is a very big issue because over night when you are charging it or you think it is charging when half the time it really is'nt then you wake up and your phone is DEAD. ocasionaly when your phone is already off then it will continue to turn it's self off without ever going on first, so when this is happening you must take the battery out and then you cannot charge it. this is also very irritating because it will not stop and it is very very loud when it is in this process. i have even more small problems with this phone that may not need to be disscused.i have sent this phone in three times and got the same model and i always have the same problems so that just showes that this phone is not made well and is too expensive for the quality that you are geting out of it.another thing is that when you are texting sometimes you will send a messsage to a person and it will send to the wrong person and that is bad because then you have to re-enter everything you had and re-send it.i wrote this review to help you and try and presuade you not to waste your money i hope this review helped you
