3 out of 5 stars Cute phone, not so much fun as it ages.   May 14, 2008

I bought the KRZR in Oct. of 2006 as an upgrade to my new every 2 plan. I was extremely happy with it in the beginning. The battery life was excellent and the sound quality superior. It looked pretty too. ;) Now after having the phone for about a year, the battery life stinks. And contrary to some others comments, it's not because I use it too much or dont charge it all the way. I charged my phone all night long, didn't use it at all. Took it off the charger at 7 a.m. and went to make a call at 10 a.m. and it went dead. Now occasionally I've found that when it goes dead, I can turn the phone off for a few secs, turn it back on, and miraculously, there's my long lost battery life. Who knew? I've allso noticed it has dropped calls even though I have full bars or just not let me connect even though I have full bars. It's quite strange because at other times, I can make/receive phone calls with no bars. There's too much inconsistency. Overall, the phone looks good, but if you want something that lasts the full two years, I'd go with something different.

2 out of 5 stars Good enough, while it still works   April 19, 2008

PRO:

1 - decent battery life, while it works
2 - small
3 - good enough bluetooth

CON:

1 - battery issues
2 - quality of connections
3 - difficult to feel the keys (i.e., to call without looking at the keypad)

This phone was great for about 13-14 months when it started having severe problems. The connection cuts in and out frequently. The location is not wholly to blame, as I've compared calling from my krzr with calling from my girlfriend's samsung (she is also with verizon) and hers does not suffer this problem.

Furthermore, the battery did not last much longer than a year. At one point I had less than 15 minutes of talk time on a full charge, although I have since swapped batteries with my mom who barely uses her phone at all.

I can't comment much on the quality of the camera or mp3 playing features of the phone as I have not been interested in them, other than to say that the camera takes a very long time to turn on and is sufficiently cumbersome to use.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!!   April 10, 2008

I have never had such trouble with a cellphone. I've had to replace the battery twice and charger once (and still have problems getting it to recognize the charger). The outside is a mirror, which seems cool initially, but you absolutely cannot see anything on the screen in the outdoors. Fingerprints galore also hinder the visibility indoors! Also, this may just be my particular phone but it frequently has "fits" where it cannot recognize the network, then flashes through all the menu screens without me pushing any buttons (I call these its "seizures") and will not respond to anything during these fits except having the battery removed.

Bottom line: After owning this phone for 1 year, I will NEVER own another Motorola. It's that bad. If you purchase this phone, you WILL regret it.

1 out of 5 stars Motorola KRZR - An expensive piece of junk   March 7, 2008
I do not understand why Verizon stood behind this phone and pushed it at the consumer. I had previously owned a LG for 3 years and was perfectly satisfied with it, but Verizon was going to stop supporting that phone. Last May, the Krzr was the hottest phone, according to Verizon. I should have returned it within the first few weeks when I was unhappy with the smudges that the phone had from basic handling. It looks so unprofessional. But I thought I would get a phone cover and that would not be a problem. Unfortunately, I kept the phone and it has continually got worse. The speaker is not very loud. I find it very hard to hear. The battery is not holding power, and the keypad and selection dial covers are lifting away from the phone. This phone is of very poor quality.

I will now look into the 1 year warranty and see what that covers. I'm not expecting much, but think I would just like to express my complete disatisfaction to Verizon and Motorola. I know that I will have to buy a phone outright, and this costs quite a bit of money when you are not buying with a plan renewal.

Buy an LG and save yourself a lot of irritation.

1 out of 5 stars STOP...Do Not Buy this Phone!   January 27, 2008

Do Yourself a favor and NEVER BUY A MOTOROLA K1m! My K1m Has Been the Worst phone I've EVER Owned! The K1m Locks up for no reason without any warning at all. You can't even turn the phone off or on when it's locked up it's just frozen. The mp3 players software is NOT VISTA compatible and even on my XP machine it's a poor excuse for an mp3 player. I cant even enjoy all the phones feathers because the battery drains too fast! MOTO SUCO
