2 out of 5 stars Nice - But   May 20, 2008

This is a nice phone and the qwerty keyboard is just right for a woman's fingers. However, the back panel is very flimsy and once dropped does not lock in tightly. I paid over $200 for this phone at Verizon and when I took it back to see if the back could be fixed I was told to tape it!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone   April 21, 2008

My wife and I were in the market for new phones and I purchased a Treo 755p and my wife got the SMT5800. I owned a treo 650 a few years ago before getting a Motorola E815 which I used for almost two years. After a week with the Treo 755p, and comparing it to the SMT5800 my wife had, I went back to the Verizon store and traded the Palm for a SMT5800.

The size of the SMT5800 is just about right, while the Treo was just too bulky. The SMT5800 will sync with my window media center PC and allow me to view recorded TV shows and listen to MP3s. I purchased the HTC Stereo Headset HS S200 the have the same HTC-USB plug (slightly different from a standard USB-mini jack) and they work fine, not great, but fine.

Overall, I think this phone will truly be the all-in-one device that I have been trying to find for the last few years.

Things that could be improved:
Add GPS support (Google maps works, but the addition of a GPS would be great)
Universal jack, not the special HTC one.
Add support for Adobe Flash player
Better voice dialing (the Treo and Motorola did this much better)

This is a very good smart phone that you can use by days end. Only issue I had was bluetoothing contacts from another phone was a tad difficult to figure out. It had to be shut off to airplane mode basically in order to transfer, there may be another way but i couldnt figure it out so good luck there. decent pics, very easy push buttins although slide out keyboard is cramped but arent they all except for the voyager. the intenet is balzing with vz evdo service. you can open and adjust word docs which is cool. you cant statrt a word doc but you can email from pc and then work on it. screen is nice size too
