5 out of 5 stars Satisfied   November 27, 2006
I have never owned a bluetooth headset prior to the Cardo Scala-500. I have a Treo 650 and the bluetooth connection was easy to establish. I've used this headset for about 5 months and I have not experienced any technical problems. I'm not excited about the blue flashing light...My headset is black and is often unnoticed until people see the blue blinking light; then they feel compelled to let me know my ear is blinking. However, I didn't like the look of the headsets with booms that extend along the cheek. Most importantly, my husband agrees that we have clear, static-free conversations (within 10-15 ft). Also, the device maintains a reasonable charge.

4 out of 5 stars Excellence!!!   September 11, 2006
I currently own A PPC-6700. I have been on a few forums and a lot a people who own this phone have said that it works well with it. I received this headset a couple of days ago and it works very well. The distance is limited to about 15-20ft. It connects without a problem. I only get static if when I too far out of range. I have no complaints.Volume is perfect, in fact sometimes its too loud.
Between what I hear and what I read I seems that the performance of bluetooth headset vary and that most seems to be dependant on the phone you are using.

I returned the Scala-500 for 3 reasons: 1) It's not comfortable. 2) It's range is only about 5 feet (with LG VX5300). 3) The person on the other end hears an echo of both our voices plus tons of background noise. Yuck!

5 out of 5 stars Did I get the same headset?   July 15, 2006

I have owned many different headsets including several Motorola, Jabra and Plantronics headsets. I am a 4000 minute a month user of my cell phone for business and work with many others that are similar. Virtually everyone I know would say that this is bar none the best headset ever. I get excellent reception (both transmitting and receiving). The standby and talk time are unsurpassed even when compared to headsets 5 timew more expensive. Very comfortable and easy to use. I would recommend this headset to anyone. I am using it with a Treo 700W and it works great in everyway. Buy this headset and save yourself the expense of trying the rest first.

I bought a blue headset for my Sony Ericsson Z520a, and I returned it because it was such a poor quality product. It would be full of static if I had it in my left pocket and on my right ear. It picks up every little sound in the area. I would lose the bluetooth signal walking 15 feet from my phone in the bedroom to my sink in the bathroom. There is not even a wall in the way, I could see my phone! Walking home from work, my girl could hear the little crickets in the field, and a train a mile away sounded like it was right next to me. When a car would pass by, it was so loud that it actually hurt her ear. A slight wind made such a noise on her end that it 'sounded like I was in a hurricane.' So Cardo's claims about wind noise reduction and traffic noise has not been proven true to me. I returned the unit to Amazon, and was sent a black one as a replacement, and it is doing the same things. As far as the comfort goes, I found that once I bent the ear piece, it was really comfortable. In conclusion, this is a cheap headset, and you get what you pay for.
