Terrific!! October 8, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pros : - Durable - Great pictures - Terrific reception - Good sound - Connects to bluetooth enabled computer via bluetooth without addition software
Cons : - PTT button annoying for those who don't want that service - For some strange reason, the back comes off semi-easily
WOW!!! What a phone! September 16, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I am happy! I finally found a cellphone that can handle my work environment. I work outdoors most of the time in noisy conditions, and my Motorola V3 Razr just wasn't making the grade. I needed a good, basic phone that is TOUGH, has good battery life, and is loud enough to hear and be heard on. When I need to talk to someone, I don't give a darn about how small or "cute" a phone is, or about extra features like walkie-talkie capability, web-browsing, or how many mp3 music files a phone can store. The Motorola V365 meets and exceeds my needs:
1. An extremely strong, durable case that can withstand almost anything but intentional abuse. An internal antenna with great transmit and receive (at least with Cingular/AT&T), not an external type that can get caught on something and break-off.
2. GREAT battery life. After four months of use, I have never been at risk of losing power. With other phones, I used to carry a spare battery. Not any more!
3. Excellent volume on the earpiece and main speakers. Now, I don't even have to crank up the volume to its maximum setting except in the most extreme conditions.
Now for you gadget freaks, all those extra features are there. Push-To-Talk (PTT) capability, Bluetooth wireless, MP3 player, mega-pixel camera, and 1gb micro-disk storage capability for plenty of songs, snapshots, and video. Motorola also has a large assortment of accessories such as headphones (both Bluetooth and wired), signal and data transfer cables, and chargers. In addition to the memory on your SIM card, the phone has about 6.6mb of onboard storage for lots of phone numbers and ringtones.
Most of the V365s on the market are the three-band GSM version like the two we have, but I have seen some quad-band GSM "world" versions advertised (info on these has not yet been posted on Motorola's website). I was able to buy both of ours brand new for less than $100.00ea on eBay, but they normally retail for about $150.00ea with a service agreement.
The V365 isn't a piece of jewelry, but it isn't a brick-phone either. It measures 3.5"h x 1.8"w x 1.1"d. Other owners have commented about how "thick" the phone is, and complained about the bulge showing under sports coats, etc. This is NOT an issue for me; I kept my V3 for "dress" occasions.
Bottom line - We couldn't be more pleased with the V365, the best product of any kind that I have purchased in many years!
not as advertised July 16, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I chose this phone because I wanted an MP3 player and the blue tooth feature. Also, it had good reviews for the mp3 player, the bluetooth and as a durable good working phone. So far, it works very well and the blue tooth function is excellent as well.
After purchasing a micro memory card and the motorola software so I could make the most out of the mp3 player I was ready to attempt to learn how to use the player. The only problem was, I couldn't find it in the phone. After checking the motorola website and following step by step directions for the V365 phone I learned that my V365 phone was not the same. No MP3 player.
When I called Amazon about it they (to their credit) immediatedly sent me a new V365 phone assuming mine was defective from what I told them. It turned out to be the same phone with no mp3 player.
It appears that some V365 phones do have the mp3 player. If that is a feature you want, make sure it comes with your phone before you commit to the contract.
moto v365 has 2 versions July 6, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I love my v365 however it took a while to locate its mp3 player due to it being a different version than the v365 shown in a demo on the motorola site. I purchased mine through ATT and they advertise that its not an mp3 phone although it IS. (see moto site for more specs and info) My mp3 player is located under sounds as "playlist". You need the memory card to store music due to the phone's small 5mb memory. Moto advertises that you need the phone tools software to download music but I simply inserted my card into an SD adapter that came with my 3-in-1 memory card then inserted it into my pc's card reader and began opening mobile>audio file then dropping ripped music files into the audio file. On the other version of v365s, there is a DPA (digital audio player) under the games/appl. area. I don't know why the mp3 players are in different locations but maybe this will help someone when they open it. I love the loud speaker and great signal that I always have. I also love the long battery life. I don't use the PTT as I thought so no comment on that. If you don't want it,don't use it. Overall, this is an excellent and sturdy phone. I love the bulk design. I don't have to worry about it slipping from my hands. Other than the difficulty locating its mp3 player, this is an excellent phone. This is my first moto. I might just stick with them a while.
Pleased with my purchase June 28, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recently got this phone after a friend told me that he was getting 5-7 days in between charges. It is absolutely true. I have only had to charge it about every 5-6 days with moderate use. The phone is a good basic phone that works well so far and feel good and sturdy. So far so good.
