Temperamental Piece of Junk November 4, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had a perfectly decent basic Samsung camera phone but wanted something a little more stylish and fun and with more features. I was already with T-Mobile and they have the best rates so I didn't want to change anyway, so I extended my contract and splurged on this phone. I saw other phones I liked more from other carriers but this looked like the best that T-Mobile had and it did have impressive features. I have to agree with the complaints of other reviewers...yes the screen gets greasy, yes it is difficult to text with the buttons, yes it's a pain to have to push buttons to see the time etc. Worse though, about a month after purchase the thing completely died on me. Well actually it froze and when I tried to push the buttons to get it to work it called one of my friends and then froze again with them on the line so I couldn't hang up or do anything, THEN it went black and died. I was able to get it back on a couple of times but it kept dying for periods of time. When I called T-Mobile they didn't want to replace it but sent out a new battery. The phone has been relatively ok lately except my end button does not work at all and the C button above it barely occasionally works. It still freezes now and then. I am going to call them again and try to get a replacement. Really wish I had not wasted my money on this phone at all. It has been a huge disappointment. On the plus side, it is decent looking and has a very good camera for a phone. T-Mobile just desperately needs to improve its phone lineup. There really aren't many girly phones available and that is too bad, and no I don't want a magenta RAZR. I hope they will pay attention to these complaints and have more fun AND reliable options by the time I'm able to upgrade again.

What Motorola DOESN'T tell you... July 17, 2007 25 out of 44 found this review helpful
I had written a review of this phone a couple of days ago, and mysteriously, it disappeared. Hmmm. Oh well, if I can warn other people about this inferior piece of crap before they spend money on it, I will continue to post the info about it here.
This phone is not what it appears to be. It may be very stylish, but for all its advertised features, I found out the hard way that this phone does NOT receive email messages from a computer. You may have a T-Mobile email address, but believe me, with this phone, YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY EMAIL. I tried to send some pictures from my computer to my Motorola RIZR for wallpaper but the phone wouldn't accept them. It doesn't even acknowledge that you are being sent anything. You can SEND photos and messages, but you can't RECEIVE them. I called T-Mobile to complain about it, and they said that it was just the way the phone was made - that it does not support email! Wish I had known that beforehand. Another thing, you can't send the videos you record either, unless you save the media to the memory card and hook it up to your computer using a USB port. I had a Motorola V360 prior to getting this phone, and I had absolutely NO problems with any of these functions - I could send and receive pics, videos, and email without any issues, but I wanted something a little less clumsy. So much for sleekness. It doesn't even show the date on the home screen, even though in the pictures it's there. Thinking about it now, I should've stuck with my V360 instead.
Plus, the reception on this phone is not that good either. I was riding on a commuter train to get home while talking on it and the train went through a short tunnel - in all of three seconds, I lost my call because the signal had disappeared.
The camera takes great pictures and the mp3 player is okay, but I don't use it anyway, because I have an iPod and that suits me just fine. This phone is very sleek, attractive and will probably impress someone out there, but as for me, I just want a phone that works and does what I am shelling out my hard-earned money for. So if you're thinking of purchasing this, think again. If you're going to spend good money on a mobile phone, the least you can expect is to get one that does what you want it to do - and this ain't it. Get a Blackberry or a Sidekick instead.
Update, 9/5/07: Looks like Motorola has automatically issued an update on the software for this phone...it shut off on me one day and when it came back on, it was updating itself...seemingly now it can receive email. I was able to email myself the wallpaper background I originally wanted. However, the jury is still out on whether or not it can send and receive video clips.
Yet another awful motorola product not to buy... July 16, 2007 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
Yes, like most of you who are observing this review I was once caught up in the glamor of having a phone that glided in a sleek direction... Well I have advice for you; don't buy this phone. I currently own this lethargic, useless piece of junk and it bestows upon me more problems everyday. This has to be one of the slowest phones I have ever used, it has several features on it, which run terribly laggy. If you are in the finger mashing market of text messaging like yours truly, then you to will be retarded with the fact that by the time your done with your sentence, it will appear 3 seconds later only to have the words predicted in the incorrect fashion because it could not keep up with you. The battery meter on it stays full until the last 4 hours where it plummets to the critical battery indicator. Be sure to give a nice shout out to Motorola when you miss your appointment, because the only thing on the front screen is "T-mobile" and the time; that's right kids, no date or day of the week on your display! The camera is fairly exceptional and has some nice features. The 2 mp pictures turn out at a respectable image if the quality is all the way up and the you are very very still while capturing. Other than a decent camera, there is no reason to purchase this phone. It also takes the pleasure of not showing you your pictures whenever it feels like concealing the folder, which means your background is a nice blank gray until it is content to locate your photo's once more. The phone also takes the liberty of shutting off randomly about twice a week for me... A terrible purchase, I strongly recommend not splurging $120 dollars on. Hope you found this useful. ~Stephen P.S. After one months past of this submitting this review, the center (or menu) button fell off..
I wouldn't buy this phone July 15, 2007 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
The screen scratches too easy. Day one I accidently put it in my pocket with my keys and I was all scratched up. And the screen gets way to greasy like another reviewer was saying. Maybe he doesn't shower often either. Ha Ha.
