Terrible Product April 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A really terrible product. First time out of the bag, tried it on my expensive new Tilt and the thing gets stuck on my cell phone. I could not pull it off. Eventually it came off only after breaking off and leaving a small metallic sleeve inside the mini UBS port. I had to pull out the remainder with a set of pliers. Because I was so careful and patient, my mini USB port still works. I suggest the sellers test this product in their cell phones before they send them out to their customers. It's not even worth returning it.
Just great . April 15, 2008 This 2 in 1 mini USB works best than others similar, it does not drop outs this one with the wire, works consistently wherever you carry on.
Great for hooking up FM transmitter April 15, 2008 I bought this to connect my FM transmitter in my car to my AT&T Tilt to play music. It works great and I can still charge my phone as well.
Almost 5-stars but not quite... April 4, 2008 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This would of been a 5 star item...
The PROS: 1) It supports 3.5mm stereo adapter for your own after market head/earphones. 2) It also supports a usb sync/power adapter so you can charge/sync while listening to your audio
This adapter just simply works; plug in a good pair of head/earphones and use TCPMP (adjust equalizer to your liking) and voila, instant MP3 player for your HTC device (HTCS621 for me). The audio quality is actually quite good and comparable to your iPod, PSP, ZUNE (2nd gen) and of course the iPhone. In fact, using the HTC device (with windows mobile and TCPMP), you can adjust the sound equalizer to truly bring out the best audio compared to ALL the devices listed above. With this device, it really makes the HTC device a true multimedia power house.
THE CONS: NO way to SPEAK to your party when making voice calls. Audio gets piped thru to your headphones that are connected to the 3.5mm jack however outgoing voice cannot be heard by your party since there's NO MIC (obvious). SPEAKER PHONE DOES NOT WORK while this adapter is plugged in. Alternative is to use an external mic such as the HTC included mic/earphone but you cannot plug it in since the stock HTC mic/earphone plug orientation does not fit the mini-usb on the semson adapter. You are left to unplug the semson adapter to use your phone (for voice conversations). This is a slight problem and the other problem is that even though the adapter is quite small and portable, you could still lose it if you unplug it. Another "adapter" to carry along with your device unless you leave it plugged in all the time (which is still bulky even on the slim HTCS621).
The bottom line: I was looking around for such a device for the longest time (ebay sold some really poor quality items). I gave this adapter a shot and it paid off.
The adapter is necessary if you wish to use higher quality head/earphones than the stock HTC included set while having an added benefit of an external power source while listening to audio. But if only HTC is smart enough to include a 3.5mm jack, there would be no need for this device! My recommedation is to BUY IT. It's worth the $ and shipping costs. You won't regret it. Buy it either from SEMSON's own website (google semson usb 3.5mm adapter). It's $1 cheaper ($4.99) but you have to pay a $2.50 shipping fee.
