3 out of 5 stars Many problems   July 11, 2008
I have not had the best luck with this phone. I have had three so far under my warranty. The first time, the end/power button just stopped working. I couldn't turn my phone off so I took it to a TMobile store, where the employee magically got it to turn off. After turning it off, he thought he was wonderful for getting it to work again, but in trying to turn it back on, it wouldn't work. I sent my phone in and was sent a second one. After no more than two months, the center button fell off. Since it is stuck on with sticky glue instead of a permanent glue, it is obviously going to come off eventually. I learned to deal with my phone without the center button, but about two weeks later, the entire arrow circle button came off. I sent it in and have been sent a third phone. I have not had problems with the third phone so far, but I am not hopeful and have been looking at other phones for when this one breaks. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE!!

2 out of 5 stars Cute Phone but Slow Response to Commands   July 10, 2008
Hi,
I upgraded to this phone last fall and I have been disappointed ever since. You have to set the alarm every night and the commands are extremely slow. Ending a call is slow. Typing in a phone number to call is slow. Texting is slow. If you patient then this phone is for you. I paid for this phone and the phone I had previously was free and much better. I suggest going into the Tmobile store and scroll through the features to make sure everything you want is there.

I also had to get a replacement phone because the circle which navigates through the menu fell off. The clerk stated that this problem in not uncommon.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING PHONE! *****   June 18, 2008
I got this phone in march of '07. I absolutely loved it because everyone was fascinated by it. It took a couple weeks to completely get the hang of it but its great. its got a flat, easy keypad like the RAZR but much thinner. You can do pretty much anything but txt with it open or closed. The flash on the camera can also be used as a REALY bright flashlight. One thing that was very irritating was that the alarm was not reliable and it says it has a standby time of up to 8 days but i could only get a max of 2 days if i didn't use it. Maybe it was just the one I got. I never had a real problem with it until yesterday, Jun-17-08, when the circle part in the middle of the front came completely off. The price has come way down so I may just replace the whole phone or get a new one. Because I txt so much, it's kinda slow as there is no real keyboard like the side kick. Someone said you cant turn off vibrate when you receive a txt but you can easily by going into the ring settings. It's kinda hard to put it in my pocket because girl's pants are so tight and the screen opens when I take it out. IN THE END, I RECOMEND IT!!!

1 out of 5 stars not worth it   June 5, 2008
probably the worst part of this phone is the texting. not only do i not like the style of the SMS program, but the texting is so slow on this phone that i'll have a full sentence typed but it will still be one the first couple words. then you have to wait until it catches up to you and see if you've made a mistake. this gets really annoying if you're writing more than two word messages.
the lag in texting applies to everything else. this is by far the slowest phone i have ever owned.
the one positive thing i will say about this phone is that i like the option of having a normal ringtone (one that actually sounds like a phone); that, however, is a feature of all motorola phones.
as far as the 2MP camera, do not buy this phone for the camera, as you will be disappointed. the quality is horrible. i thought that a 2mp camera would take better pictures than the 1.3 that i had on my previous phone. i was sadly mistaken. pictures from this phone look good neither on the phone or on a computer.
if i could afford it, i would trash this phone and just buy a new one, but i'll have to wait until i can renew my contract and go back to nokia.

3 out of 5 stars it's ok, but not great   April 14, 2008
I used to have an old Motorola Razor and I decided that this had a lot of new perks. Yeah, sometimes. But it's definitely not the greatest..

PROS:
- it looks nice; there's that pretty design on the back when you slide it open
- I'm biased here but it's MUCH faster than my last razr with mp3, good message storage, etc.
- good battery life!
- you can charge through your computer
- easy transfer to computer
- camera is surprisingly clear; obviously not great, but pretty good
- OK at recording videos- sounds are compromised a bit.
- when you play the music, it's really clear. pretty loud, too.

SO-SO:
- it takes a while to get used to texting/typing on this phone. but you begin to get used to it and yes, I type faster than the phone can process but it's not too bad.
- the music player is a little useless; I like to close my phone and listen to the music but if you set it like that, you can't "close ALL your applications when you close the phone."
- pre-set games suck.

CONS:
- a little bulky compared to my razr.
- the alarms: I swear they didn't go off for me more than once..and I woke up late..
- sometimes, when a call goes through/I call someone, I can't hear them and they can't hear me. This gets REALLY annoying when I have to call them back. This happens at least twice a week..
- I don't know if the problem is with my service or not, but my friend has tried to call me 10 times once when I had no service and my phone didn't pick up any of the missed calls except once. I don't know what's going on. But that wasn't the first time; people have tried to call me and I never get that missed call notification..

All in all, it's an OK phone. I've had it for about 4 months and I don't love it because of the cons, but I'm pretty stuck with it. I also think I'm getting a little tired of Motorola.. maybe I'll go to Samsung or Nokia next time.
