5 out of 5 stars Great Phone   August 3, 2008
Great phone! I loved my old RAZR but this one has so much more to offer. I have more signal strength than before. Was easy to use my music for ringtones. Battery life seems fine. I love the integration with my GPS. Cons: None

5 out of 5 stars In spite of those negative reviews......   August 1, 2008

I read many reviews of the Moto RAZR2 v9 before purchase, including the negatives. Conclusion: Positive -I like this phone for many reasons. Negative - It is not an Iphone!
Positive: It looks great, sound is fine, display is big and clear, with 2 Gig microSIM, holds plenty of music. Cool that it uses voice dialing of names without recording the names so my whole phone list is available to voice dial. The calendar is much improved over RAZR allowing comment section to include contact info. Unlike other negative reviews, I find the battery is working just fine, listening to hours of music. If you want to listen to music you must buy a stereo headset with microphone - when a call comes in, it pauses the music, receives the call, resumes music on hang up. Since music was a major reason I got this, I like the menus for making playlists, using the front touch screen to pause, fast forward/reverse. Personal taste, I like the color a lot. The photo online is ugly, the phone is beautiful. No choice of color but Oh Well!
Negative: give up on hearing bass tones with the cheap headset with microphone (otherwise callers can't hear you!) Interface software: I already had this software and it is a must!!! Software does not come with the RAZR2. Phone comes with adapters to plug in better headset and larger size connectors like from old RAZR, but these adapters are bulky and not reasonable to carry around sticking out of the side of the phone.
Well I got the phone free thru Amazon with 450 minutes from ATT so I can't complain. Much better than RAZR, but RAZR2v9 can not compete with Iphone. That is comparing brilliant with genius.

2 out of 5 stars Real Bad Phone with Good Looks.   July 25, 2008

I ordered this phone just lookin at pics and returned it back immediately after using for sometime. I thought it would be better than RAZR V3. I dont know from which material Motorola has manufactured this phone, it weighs a ton. RAZR2 V9 being a flip phone is very big compared to a straight phone like Blackberry Pearl. The features are also not so good.

Pro:
* Very solid feeling, on a little bit heavy side, though I like it.
* Screen is very bright and clear
* Very fast, I believe it's due to the 500MHz process, vs. the 250 something for the Razr2 V9m (Verizon)
* Calling quality is great, if it works. :)
* 3G is fast, though this is a gift, or a curse, it drains the battery MUCH faster than without 3G
* Picture quality under bright day light is pretty good
* Bluetooth works well, and voice recognition also works well, you can simply say the number and it will dial it for you.

Con:
* If use 3G, then battery runs out a day or so, daily charge is required.
* The menu buttons for CV and MediaNet are not configurable, it's a ATT phone, so nothing to do with Motorola on this one, though still, wish it's configurable right out of box rather than need to heck it.
* Out side screen cannot show picture slide or video without hecking the phone first, only for music

All in all, for this much money, I would say get one if you are looking for a phone.
