Very Satisfied July 29, 2008 I'm not going to go into too much detail. I just wanted to share with others who may be looking into this phone.
The only negative thing I can say about this phone has nothing to do with the phone itself technically. I was more accustomed to the full blown Windows Mobile 6 PPC version from my previous phone which had a lot more built in functionality. So going to this phone was a step down for me personally.
Other than that, this phone was a great compromise for me between functionality and size. The call/sound quality is amazingly clear and loud, same with the speakerphone. As for the OS and stability it has yet to lock up on me once. It feels solid and well built when I handle it. The battery life is another thing of note. With moderate use I've gone 2-3 days without charging. If I use frequently throughout the day at work then I usually need to charge it every 1-2 days. The screen is clear and bright with an option mode to have it automatically adjust depending on the lighting you're in, I like it so far.
As for purchasing through Amazon, I was an existing AT&T customer but I was NO LONGER under contract. I was able to buy this phone (at Amazon's advertised price) and keep my existing number with no issues whatsoever. Once I got my phone and charged it, I called AT&T and had them transfer me from my old SIM to the one that was included with this phone. Though I probably could have just stuck my old SIM into this phone.
Not all its cracked up to be July 16, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
After a few months of having this phone, I am sad to say i will send it to its grave. Its heart was in the right place, but it grow up to be a Edward Scissor hands. It takes 4 clicks just to get to the text message screen visiable. then try to navigate between folders, and open new messages. It just takes far to many clicks to navigate any menu. Since the phone has a wide body, I often have to uses two hands to avoid juggling it in one hand to click all the buttons i need too. the software installed is almost useless, you have to pay for additional programs to make the phone easy to use.
I do admit I have a special place in my heart for Sony Ericsson phones. I have tried other companies phone and none have the picture quality, the inherently friendly and simple useful application, great user interface, and beauty.
Fun and easy to use July 14, 2008 This is my first "smart phone", and I was pleased at how easy it was to navigate and use functions. Phone os seems stable, and adding music and photos very easy as well. Call quality is excellent, and the speaker phone is great. Phones links up with all blue tooth devices easily, and works well. Battery life is ok, will last all day with blue tooth on and using data and playing music regularly through the day on the small batter, still haven't used the extended battery, probably will last even longer. Can't compare to other devices, but I am please with the overall operation of this phone, and would recommend to others.
Great Phone!!! June 30, 2008 I love this phone! It has been great since the day I got it. I would recommend it to anyone. It has a few small annoyances, but every device does. It does most things it sets out to do very well.
Nice phone June 25, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a defector from the iPhone (yes, despite the approach of the 3g) and after some research finally settled on the q9h. Even though I think the form factor and user interface on the iphone are terrific, I mainly bought the device because of its internal memory. Now, with the devices like the q9h and others that can accomodate 2.0 high capacity cards the game has changed. You can equip yourself with lots of storage space for songs and other media without internal memory. As for the phone itself, I've been using it for about three days now. Here's what I like...
1. The signal strength is very, very good 2. The volume level and call clarity are amazing for both phone AND speakerphone. Iphone version 1.0 doesn't come close. 3. Windows mobile 6, which is a more productivity-oriented platform than what I had on the iphone. 4. Keyboard is amazing. I missed tactile texting and data entry. 5. Screen is good, but not great 6. Processor seems fast enough to take advantage of 3g and programs. Seldom do I deal with lag when navigating. 7. Seems durable. 8. Fairly light and thin 9. As mentioned, SD 2.0 compatible. This should allow the phone to accomodate up to 32 gigs of memory. As of now the MicroSD's are at 8 gigs but that will change soon. 10. I read [...] that the phone is actually wired for WIFI but will require some kind of software upgrade to activate it. Sounds dubious, but it'd be a big plus if it's the case, and would raise my review to a 4.5 or 5
Cons
1. Side-mounted micro USB (I would've preferred top or bottom) 2. No WIFI, but with 3g this isn't much of an issue (see #10 above) 3. I've heard phone is "counter-blocked", which means you could encounter issues if you buy an unlock code and unlock it. FYI. 4. A little wider than I'd like but the keyboard feels good for a reason
Overall I think this is a very solid phone. I would recommend it to others in a heartbeat. As far as the device's fundamentals go I can't find anything wrong with it thus far.
