Luxury Phone May 31, 2008 This phone is pure luxury. The phone is mostly made out of glass and metal. The phone has 2 huge High Defintion screens. The phone has one of the best MP3 players you could find on a cell phone, comparable to ipods.
The battery is great it last around 4 to 5 hours. Camera quality is great, close to the quality of a disposable camera.
Great Phone! Exceeds expectations! March 22, 2008 This is bigger than the original razr but bigger is definitely better. I am usually not fond of battery life of motorola due to previous experience but this battery life is the best of the last 4 motorola purchases. You can download music, it reads your text messages to you if you choose and the internet is really fast and downloads full pages. No regrets.
pretty good phone!!! but T-Mobile dropped the ball February 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
To start with let me say that this phone is gorgeous!! so if you like fashionable phones, this is the one for you. The this is that Because it took T-mobile so long to start selling this phone, I would go into Verizon and play around with the V9 version that they sell. I don't know about other people, but I for one thought that the only difference in between the V8 and V9 was that the V8 didn't have a slot for a memory card. Well Now that I bought it, I now know that thats not all it doesn't have. I do not understand why T-mobile has stripped this phone down to the bare essentials I mean what would it have taken for them to allow more operating control from the closed position on the phone just like the V9 versions. Don't get me wrong, I really like the phone and I'm not one of those guys that really cares about how fast the OS is and I didn't buy this phone to play a lot of music on so that being said I still like the V9 better I just don't like the color of it. I would have given this phone a perfect 5 if T-mobile hadn't drop the ball and stripped it I mean let's face it the phones not cheap!! My advice is if you are not a T-mobile customer... Stay that way and buy the other versions of this phone.
One of the best phones for T-Mobile January 13, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Hi, I was looking for a phone to buy, for a while and this Razr for the price looked really good. I paid 199$ with one year contract. About the phone, love the design, and the fact that to activate touch screen buttons like for music player you have to open phone first, and then select music. That way you wont start music accidentally in your pocket. Talking about music player it's pretty good if you looking to buy an mp3 player and a phone, shop no more, that if you don't need crazy space because phone comes with 2GB memory no expansion slot. But 2 GB is plenty, for few hours. Battery life is an ok, not great but about 4 hour talking time, music. last thing you can customize allot, like themes, beeps, ring tones, screen saver and so on. And did I mention that sound quality is the best I heard in any GSM phone. The biggest problem i think is the menu. It's deep and sometimes confusing. In order to change ring tones you have to do 8 steps. You will have to read manual. Oh and it's quite big comparing with other flip or slide phones, guys will love that fact, petite ladies will probably hate it.
Overall Great Upgrade to Razr - Not without problems though October 29, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
First and foremost, this phone is gorgeous! I have the V8 from T-mobile and its the dark blue color which looks amazing. Okay now to the phone itself:
Pros:
1.Design - this phone has touch feedback on the front screen which can be used to change tracks with the built-in 2GB worth of storage! The number keys are a little bigger than in the original Razr which makes it easier to access without looking at the phone. 2. Speed - the operating system of this phone is definitely faster than the original Razr. It has a much cleaner menu system and its much easier to customize it to what you use most. 3. Reception - I had some problems with the original Razr but with this phone I have yet to have a reception issue which in itself was worth the cost of the phone. 4. Battery life - I dont just use this phone to make calls and as a result my battery life would be less than those who do just use it for a phone. However with playing music, making calls, surfing the net I still get about 2 days worth of usage before having to charge...which is definitely a plus over the less than 1.5 days I would get w/ the original Razr JUST making phone calls.
Okay so now to the annoyances:
Cons: 1. Price - This phone, although a great upgrade to the Razr, is a little expensive at $250 direct from T-mobile with a contract/upgrade. I needed an upgrade right away but if you can wait I would say do so because the price will definitely fall through the holidays (or right after) 2. Internet speed - T-mobile does not have 3G (yet) so Edge is all you have when surfing the net, which even compared to dial-up is hard to bear but I try to just use it for checking email and not just for random surfing. 3. Design - Although I listed this as a Pro, there are some issues i have with this phone. It has too many grooves and places where dust and hard-to-reach particles can get in. So I definitely recommend a case for this to protect (especially) the front of the phone, which can easily get smudged with fingerprints because of its reflective nature.
Overal:
A great phone with many improvements over the original Razr and may just be the boost Motorola needed to get back in the game after making so many mistakes with the "In-Between" Razrs. Price and some design issues keep me from making it a 5/5 but definitely deserves 4/5 and even a 4.5! If you were looking for the Razr design but needed major improvements to make this worthwhile, this Razr2 is it! Enjoy!
