4 out of 5 stars It's OK.   May 28, 2008

It's a lot of phone for a penny. Lots of stuff that I really didn't need. And though it's a lot easier to answer than a flip phone (especially with one hand), it's still too thick. The pedometer keeps counting even when I'm driving. And I'm trying to figure out why the camera won't zoom. Worst part, when it's in my back pocket my bum seems to answer the phone. Let me tell you- hearing voices creeping up behind you is very, very scary. Then you feel dumb when it's someone trying to get your attention on your own phone. The phone is still a good purchase. I'm still waiting for that Giorgio Armani Samsung. Oh, AT&T charges $19 to CONTINUE doing business with them. It's just as stupid as paying for sending AND receiving text messages. In two years I'll opt for no contract and buy a mobile.

2 out of 5 stars it's a fancy phone, but failed to be a phone   May 25, 2008

i chose this phone 'cause it's supposedly multi-functional and the battery should last forever....i cannot be more wrong. the reception is bad - the other person's voice breaks up all the time and i have about 10 times more dropped and blocked calls.... and i never can understand what the person at the other side is talking about, the voice quality is just BAD!! on top of all that, i had to call customer service N times to figure out why my phone's bottom lights would not turned off when it's standby, which eats up my battery life like crazy; what annoys me the most, is that the phone charm falls off all the time!!! how could that happen when the hook is inside the battery cover????

but it's fancy, you can use it to listen to radio or MP3; it has cable and free software, so you can manage your files on the phone through your computer; the camera is 2mp, can take fairly good quality pics~~

however, since i have an ipod, a digital camera and a laptop already, what i really need is a PHONE....and it fails to be a phone. I miss my nokia 6102, which did nothing fancy, but is fantastic as a phone.

4 out of 5 stars Sony Ericsson phones are the best...   May 21, 2008
And this one is especially fantastic with its MP3 player, bundled usb cables, and everything else. Their interface is the most intuitive out of any brand I've ever tried (motorola, nokia, and lg). The only thing Sony could do to improve this phone would be to make it vibrate harder because I can never feel it ringing if I happen to be walking. Still, I highly recommend this beautiful kick-@ss phone!

1 out of 5 stars The Phone Contract for Sub-Prime Mortgage Holders   April 22, 2008

Remember who that man behind the curtain was in the start of the Wizard of Oz? He's a snake oil salesman, all your ills cured with an inexpensive elixor. Other than a box of (rather outrageous) small print default terms, where on this page are the terms of the contract? What are the services and rates? What is the maximum and minimum use? What is AT&T's obligation to provide service? Subscriber recourse, not here. True and clear statements of fact, how about vague assurances. Hey, it's as good as a Countrywide mortgage.

2 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought - too many flaws   April 7, 2008

The features were attractive - speaker phone, camera*, FM radio, stylish, good call quality. However, it has some serious flaws. Poor battery life is a big one. It has so many lights that go on, it really knocks the battery down. One or two long calls can drain half the power.

The second is the lock function can be easily undone while the phone is in your pocket and you're walking around. When it unlocks in your pocket, all sorts of nasty things can occur - it will reset functions, call people, and even turn itself off. Its happened too many times.

The third flaw: the buttons. When the phone is unlocked you can hit a variety of buttons that will suddenly take you to places unknown, where you can be charged for internet, etc. Suddenly I miss my old LG flip phone.

It seemed like a poor man's iPhone, but you got to put up with the cheapness, like *not being able to download photos/video to a Mac (which was not mentioned when I purchased the phone).
