Nice Phone, But Too Hot To Handle August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I first recieved my Samsung A737 I was so excited. I loved the color, and I loved the functions of the phone. The battery had good life, and the speaker phone was clear, something that's a must for me on a cell phone. But after about a week I noticed that the phone would get real hot to the touch when I was talking on it for about five or more minutes. It wasn't a warm feeling, but a hot almost burning touch to my hand. I returned the phone and recieved a replacement. I felt good about the replacement thinking that it would be better, that maybe the original phone had a defect. But after a few days I began having the same problem with the replacement phone. So now I have taken the sim card out of the Samsung A737 and placed it into my Nokia phone, and it works well. The Nokia does not get hot, even after I charge the battery for a long time. I really hate that this has happened, because I really liked the Samsung A737.
My Samsung A737 Review July 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My review for Samsung 737
Here it what I liked about this phone: 1. Very cool design (it comes in Red/Blue/or White) 2. The speakers are great. When listing to my MP3 songs through the phone's speakers, the sound is clear and loud. Very impressive. 3. The screen is clear and very sharp. No problems trying to read the screen during the day and/or direct sunlight. 4. There are many options that this phone offers, more than any other phones I've owned in the past.
What I didn't like.
1. Keys are too small for TM. I have normal sized fingers, but it was a pain to TM friends. I kept pushing the wrong letters. I believe that's the case because the phone is rather small to start with.
2. Batter life is horrible! If using to listen to music or take pictures, a full battery will last you no more than 2 hours. I was not impressed. Even just using the phone as intended, the batter will last 2 days.
3. The phone's reception is ok, not great. I continue to have dropped calls which was not the case with my other phone.
4. The camera is really useless. There is no flash and the pictures, even as a high resolution setting, the pictures are not good. Most pictures were too dark or fuzzy. I don't use this phone's camera for pictures.
Conclusion: Overall it's an OK phone, and if you're looking for a phone that looks good and makes phone calls, this will work for you. If you TM on a regular bases and like to take pictures, this is not the phone for you.
Sincerely,
Moe

It's about 3 -1/2" long, 1-1/2" wide, 1/2" thick. It's in a deep red color, deeper than the photo's. Its casing is not made in rubber like the nokia 5210 (which was what I thought). It's all made of metal casing which is great! It's sleek and teeny. If you have big hands/ fingers, you might find texting on this phone a little testy. But, it's very easy to navigate. I think most GSM and 3G phones are very user friendly nowadays anyway. You won't have any need to even read the manual. I only checked mine for the initial charging instructions. Speaking of which..
Battery life is not that good though. Out of the box, I fully charged it before turning it on and using it. The charge only lasted 20 hours. Talk time total was approximately a little less than 2 hrs. And the usual tinkering of a new phone (IM activated). The next time, I waited for 2 low battery signals before charging it & a full batt lasted me just the same amount of talk time the previous day plus the same amount of tinkering usage. I will calibrate (drain completely before charging) in a week's time as I just got the phone 2 days ago.
All in all, I'm giving it 3.5 stars (sorry no half stars on the rating thing). The screen is great and the picture quality is crisp, considering it's only 1.3 megapixels. Better than my old phone (N75, which had 2megapixels). The applications are at par with the new handsets too. The only downside is if you're a heavy caller. Some people say their batteries last 2-3 days, maybe that's if they only use SMS or IMing and not much calling.
