4 out of 5 stars I love this compaired to my moto razr   September 1, 2008
After 2 years of dealing with the rave that was the MotoRazr I was happy to upgrade. I actually was looking at some of the hightech stuff like an Mp3 player phone or a smartphone. But my lifestyle doesn't need that. I tend to use my phone to make calls, send basic texts and once in blue moon take a photo. I really was expecting to go for some "cool" hightech phone when I noticed this one at the T-mobile store. Looks wise I like how it fits into the hand and is a slider phone. The graphics are very basic (the menu lights up in B/W), you can't use real songs as ringtones, and when you make a call there will be some sound in the background. However! Compaired to the razr I had the speaker phone is excellent. I can clean a small room while chatting on the speaker phone and the camera is good for basic photos. My friends who have hightechy phone were teasing me about getting a basic phone but when they saw it they changed their minds. They said it was great for what it was... which is a basic phone that looks and feels updated. If you are looking for a solid phone for taking calls, basic texting and other basic functions this is a great choice. If you want a flip phone or something very high-techy then I say pass.

As an owner I have to say I love this phone!:)

2 out of 5 stars VERY simple   June 10, 2008

i thought i was going to like this phone, but after having it for a week, i quickly changed it to the samsung katalyst.

why?

it was way too simple! i never thought a phone can be too simple for me since i'm not that picky and i don't need amazing features like a blackberry or anything.

i did like how the phone was pretty small and not at all bulky, but it did get to me how the keys were cramped together and it made texting a little harder.

the graphics on the phone wasn't that great including the camera quality and the little graphics on the phone (yes i do pay attention to the small details)

if you just need a phone to make calls and that's just about it and you want a slider phone, then this is for you! i need more to my phone in order for me to be happy with it!

4 out of 5 stars Best Cell Phone Ever!!!   May 22, 2008

I have used many cell phones in the past and this one is by far the best. I've had candy bars, which I have always loved them as far as reception, but the minute I switch to flip, I end up having problems with signal strength, dropped calls, just too aggravating!

I found this gem. Being as I would love to have a camera on my phone, but doesn't need to be in the MP type resolution. Even for a low resolution, it takes pretty good photos! You can even record sound to go with your photo as well. (I won't be using this feature, but it's there for anyone who think they will..LOL)

I love that it has memo recorder, this way you need to remind yourself of something you're worried you'll forget, you can do this with the Samsung.

The phone doesn't feel bulky and I love that you can slide the phone when a call comes in to unlock the phone, instead of fumbling for the talk button. Downside is, when a call comes in and you grab it from your pocket. You might accidentally hit the accept or reject button. I end up hitting reject, haven't hit accept yet. Which is good, for the most part, I'd rather reject a call than accept.

As for the review below mine that mentions there is no USB Data Cable for this. Apparently, this person did not research for one. Being as I purchased one myself from Ebay and then I went to Samsung's website and downloaded Samsung PC Studio 3. Which helps me manage my photos, ringtones, wallpapers, etc. I found a seperate program to make my own ringtones and this is awesome!!

As far as the resolution on this screen compared to others, to me it doesn't look any different. I'm not that techincal looking at this one versus other screens. I do have to say is this screen is by far the largest I have owned.

I have noticed with this phone, I don't get a range as far as I did with my candy bars phones, but this superceeds what my flips in the past have covered. Which many people complain about their service not covering, when it's not them, alot has to do with the phone and what it's capable of doing.

As far as using the bluetooth for internet, I don't even see this mentioned in the description. So if you're looking for a phone that has bluetooth internet capabilities, this is not the phone for you. I haven't used an additonal bluetooth headset for this phone just yet, but will be my next purchase.

I also love that it has a block caller feature. In the event I should ever get a wrong number, which surprisingly hasn't happened to me yet. I can add them to a block list to prevent future calls from coming thru.

I do wish this phone had expandeable memory. From the ringtones I have created and photos I have taken and from my phonebook, I'm already halfway thru. *sigh* I was hoping to have individual ringtones for callers, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

This is a really good phone and was well worth the money I paid. I got this at Best Buy for $99, and this was for the prepaid service.

2 out of 5 stars can't customize   November 15, 2007
6 out of 20 found this review helpful

i bought this phone w/out looking at the features and i regret ever buying it. i use to have the t809 and that's 10x better than this. the screen color and resolution are lower than t809. bluetooth doesn't see any device other than bluetooth headset. (i've tested with several phones and a computer with bluetooth) There's no data setting to transfer file from the computer via data cable. there's no flash drive.

t429 is good is an ok phone but if you want something that you can customize then go with something else.
