great and easy to use October 19, 2007 Have used this for about a month now with my Motorola Rokr S9 and my Samsung Trace phone. Easy setup and great customer support.
The problem with "bleeding edge" technology... September 27, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The idea I had in mind sounded like it would be both fun to implement and provide exactly what was needed. That is, putting a Bluetooth headset in my shirt pocket and having the mobility to move around the podium giving my lecture to both a live audience and at the same time giving it as a video conference lecture to a remote audience over Skype. And, the cost was to be minimal as I would use an existing Motorola Bluetooth headset that I used for hands free cell phone conversations when driving. And, given that this was a Motorola supplied device - well, it should be so easy to implement.. Skype even had this device recommended on its web site.
Well, the idea was great, but the implementation was a nightmare. Without dragging you through the specifics, let's just say that I could never get it to work with any level of stability on a high end IBM ThinkPad running Windows XP. Sometimes it worked like a charm but most of the time the setup would either drop the microphone or just never get going with it. After 12 hours or so spread over 3 days of trying everything under the sun, including some very unhelpful Motorola support folks with incomprehensible accents, I scrapped it for an omnidirectional speaker from Radio Shack for $40 that works wonderfully, and I'd recommend that you do the same. It actually does work like a charm and the implementation involves plugging the 15 foot cable into the microphone port on the side of your laptop.
Excelent product August 31, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought it recently to use with Skype and my Motorola bluetooth. At the beginning I have problems to set up speakers when was not using it but right now I know it is only removed the usb adapter and I can listen the i-tunes in the regular speakers. It is working very well so far.
Good adapter, not compatible with WINDOWS VISTA August 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good bluetooth adapter, however I didn't realize that it wasn't compatible with windows vista. Motorola tech support said they don't have any plans to distribute vista drivers for this which I think is lame because they are still selling it on their site. They should have support (or future plans) for new operating systems if they are still selling the product on their site. Anyways, it works well with XP and does what it's suppose to.
Bluetooth music August 19, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this adaptor to stream music directly from my computer to my Motorola HT820 bluetooth headphones (the older, bigger ones). The adapter was easy to install and works with the A2DP technology of the headphones for stereo sound. The reception is not the best, but works a few rooms away which is nice. Also I was unsure about how it would interface with a music player, but after setup and enabling the headphones for stereo playback, which was quite simple with the instructions, the bluetooth manager notifies you that music will begin once you open a music player. I opened ITunes and pressed play, and sure enough the music was sent to my headphones. Also with the A2DP technology, I can use the headphones to control playback and volume, which was also quite nice. The sound quality of the stereo music was unimpressive, but that may be due to my headphones which I would not recommend for a venture into stereo bluetooth. I admit I'm not at all cell phone or bluetooth savvy (probably from not being completely swept off my feet by the technology) but I'm satisfied with the product.
