Treo 700 wx sucks December 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This boat anchor has critical memory error problems that are not resolvable by local Verizon technicians. It dumps files, locks up necessitating soft rebooting, and has one redeeming feature-it is heavy enough to provide an aerobic workout if you carry it throughout your day. Buyer beware!
A Disappointing PDA October 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Palm Treo 700w should have made me very happy. It's too bad it has so many problems. I have had 4 devices over the past 20 months. My current phone still does not work properly. (The internet will not connect unless I restart the phone or sign on 5 or 6 times.) Verizon takes some of the blame. I live in the middle of LA and can't get reception - mind boggling. The QWERTY keyboard does make it easy type and some of the integrated features will be missed. Yet, once my new phone arrives on Monday, I will gladly pay the early termination fee to get out my contract.
Junk October 25, 2007 Nothing but problems with this phone. Too numerious to list. Buy an I- Phone if you are in the market for something like this.
Terrible September 29, 2007 I had this phone for over a year. Without a doubt it is awlful. It drops calls. shuts off , is slow and very unreliable. I have had a multitude of bluetooth pairing issues, always replacing the bluetooth device. It has sync problems as well. If you enjoy not receiving your calls. being annoyed, upset, this is the phone for you.. If not try a blackberry and relax.
VERY unreliable September 20, 2007 I've had this phone for over a year. It is incredibly unreliable even when using it as just a phone.
Intermittently it will not answer, won't hang up, locks up, programs won't open, programs are slow to open, often won't Activesync, etc.
Power cable is non-standard and loosens up after a bit of use so that it is intermittent.
Didn't come with backup software. Didn't come with tethering software. It's VERY slow, even with EVDO. Doesn't do Java, just something called BREW. Won't open a Microsoft web mail page even though it's using a Microsoft OS. Crashes a lot, you don't know when it crashes so you miss calls. USB adapter cable doesn't make a good connection. Cannot be charged by USB.
Verizon's "Push Email" is unstable and cannot be trusted to keep email, calendar, etc. sync'd. Verizon's support does not understand this device and cannot help with it. Not Rev. A EVDO, does not take good advantage of EVDO speeds. Can't tell much difference between 1xRTT and EVDO. Verizon's data plan is expensive and Verizon coverage is limited.
Pocket Outlook does not handle time zone or daylight savings time very well. Has memory leaks. Poor memory management. Not enough memory. Cannot use external memory very well, only as storage. When this comes out of the box most internal memory is already in use, even with 1GB of external memory this still slows down and crashes because of low memory.
Camera doesn't look bad for a PDA, but is very slow to open. Limited battery life even without heavy use. Won't last through the day with average use and good signal.
Windows Media Player usually can't open and/or won't play media.
Very unreliable and undependable. Anyone who gives this phone a good review is lying, doesn't use the phone, or has VERY low expectations. Not recommended.
