2 out of 5 stars Treo 750 - Will love you short time   May 29, 2008

Although the first 10 months using my Treo 750 were quite smooth with only a few issues here and there such as calls dropped and email sync challenges, the last two months have seen numerous issues pop up.

- Dropped calls multiple times a day. I'm not sure if this is a reflection of Dallas Cingular service or the Treo, although I haven't had problems in the past. This is quite frustrtating when talking with clients and you have to call back two or three times just to finish a conversation

- Out bound calls: Often it takes about three tries for a call to go through. I hit send/talk and although it says it's dialing, when I glance back the screen has gone back to the main page as though I never tried to make a call. After several attempts, calls usually go through. This is quite frustrating!

- The battery life has gone from over 24 hours, to less than 12 just recently. My battery won't last past 5pm if fully charged at 8am, no matter the amount of use during the day.

I've gone from loving my phone to wondering when I'll have to replace it. On a side note, my wife has the same phone, we got them at the same time and she is having the exact same issues.

Anyone else out there experiencing similar challenges now that their Treo 750 has some miles on it?

4 out of 5 stars good phone   May 22, 2008

i use it for personal and not business use so i use windows mobile 6.1 instead of the palm os or my company's os. if you can upgrade i'd highly recommend getting 6.1. watching youtube videos and web browsing is pretty easy and windows mobile in general is like an extension of your desktop, and syncing is easy if you use windows. i'm a mac user but there are programs you can download from windows mobile to sync to a mac. the phone is pretty but not overly hefty, which i think is an advantage over the lighter blackberry. the casing is also better in that it feels more secure in your hand than the blackberry does. my girlfriend has a blackberry and i'd prefer my phone over hers anyday. i'd say the blackberry does have a better keyboard, the treo's takes some getting used to but once your comfortable its farily easy, although i find typos when i type fast. one-hand operation is pretty easy as well.

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone in every category   April 27, 2008

I had a Treo 650 2 years ago (ran over it with my car), then went with the Moto Q a year ago (wish I had ran it over with my car). I could not wait to get rid of my Moto Q. Now (4/2008) I have the Treo 750. I'll update this review by Jan '09, but for now this phone is perfect.

I have seen no issues with battery life...but then I don't talk on the phone for more than about 20 minutes a day (I have a life). This phone comes with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, & Outlook) so you can save your files on here and then take then with you. Always get the replacement issurance plan with a phone like this.

Some of my associates have BlackBerrys...you need that if every email for you is life or death. If you don't need instant emails, then this is the better of the two phones. I may have seen something in the features that will allow the 750 to receive almost instant emails...I need to figure out all the features.

You will love the way several good devices are combined into one: Phone, Palm Pilot, Music Player, Video Player, Video Camera, Digital Camera, Document Reader, too many more to list here. Basically you can clear out all the handheld gadgets you own and replace them all with the Treo 750.

My only issue is that Palm should send you an instructional DVD with this phone covering all of the features. The user booklet that comes with the phone is almost useless. You will have to take a sojourn from life to become familiar with all the features. But ATT customer service is just a 1-800 call or a text message away and they are very customer oriented.

I'm an attorney who has had this phone for almost one year (June 2007) and I'm ready to get rid of it. It does not play well with others. I had a palm for years which synced my calendar/to dos, etc. with my office. When palm switched to microsoft, the calendar only syncs from the desktop - all data entered on the phone is lost -- all the techs have said that I have to live with this -- not very realistic. It will not sync with my contacts list. It crashes about once or twice each week. My first one was completely broken when sent to me and the replacement has not been much better. It will suddenly not ring so I have missed calls and messages. The battery does not last long (I've turned off the email checking feature - when that was on, I received 3-4 hours of use, with it off, it must be recharged every 2 days -- if you forget and the noises are off to alert you to a low battery - you really lose!) Bottom line is that this is an extremely unsatisfactory "smart" device for the money. The unreliability and inability to work with others cancels out the features I liked (GSM) (PDFs that you can carry with you).
