 Tote bags for recycling! July 9, 2008
I live in a condo, and don't have much space for recycling containers in my kitchen, so I decided to do something a little different. I ordered this pack of tote bags, which are square, and have plastic reinforcement in the bottom. My washer and dryer are in my kitchen, and I hung these bags above them from the shelves in that closet. They take up very little space where I put them, but hold a lot of recyclables. My boyfriend and I produce probably 50% less garbage since we've been recycling. :)

The bags are good, sturdy and environmental friendly. Moreover they carry more items than regular paper grocery bags due to their ability to expand.
Items of most shapes can be held. They are much easier to handle than the throw-away plastic bags. Yet I have two problems. For one, stores like Publix and Walmart sell the same bags for $1.00. Some firms give them away. So, the price is double what I pay. Also, those who like the
same design or varied patterns may be disappointed. When I leave a Publix with my two green bags and the store name boldly showing, people comment that they are very attractive.
The other problem found--with all bags of this type--is too often getting out of the car, I sometimes forget them. Maybe I need a better finger tie. In such cases I will often transfer the items from the plastic bags to these and then put the flimsy ones into recycling bins.
For those who have no stores around or seek convenience, the package is attractive. I can see it as a good gift for many. Dr. K.

"My order came in promptly and the items were just as described. They are of good quality I really like the handles, and the size, which will make it easier to carry. My grocery store gives money back when you bring in your own grocery bags, not a lot, but with food prices going through the roof, every penny helps.! This is so much better than using all that plastic.. Thanks"

This 'earth friendly' or 'enviromentally friendly' reuseable grocery bag is in fact made of plastic! Polypropylene is a plastic polymer and is often used for food containers, particularly those that need to be dishwasher safe. The melting point of polypropylene is very high compared to many other plastics, at 320F (160C). So if your looking for something that is truely is earth friendly and enviromentally friendly look elsewhere.

I love these bags! They arrived quickly. I love the way they stand up, unlike flimsy cotton bags. They are also very light and the colours are pretty. The price is good, though I can buy ones just like them in my local supermarket (with the store name on them) for $1.00 a piece. I didn't realize that when I ordered these. They are still worth the price, though. They hold a lot and are easy to carry. As a bonus, my local store gives you a 5 cent discount for each reusable bag that you use. I highly recommend them.
