Serves me right for not reading the reviews and warnings from the other Amazon customers out there, but as others have stated, the item clearly listed as "Peerless Universal Wall Mount for 23"-46" Flat Panels" DOES NOT FIT most 42" and above LCD panels.
The Peerless and Amazon description giving the 23" to 46" range and calling the item "universal" is totally deceptive. They are doing a terrible disservice to their customers, many of whom will not realize that contrary to the item description, the wall mount is not compatable with their LCDs.
There is no disclaimer on the Amazon web page at the time of ordering (save for the other customer reviews). In fact, the Amazon web description touts it as supporting "virtually any 23" to 46" flat panel screen"... but when the product arrives and the small disclaimer on the instructions sheet reads "most 42" and larger screens may not work with this mount", you've been duped and have wasted your time and shipping money.
Serves It's Purpose May 21, 2008
This worked well for my Pops 40" LCD. Seemed a little "simpler" than I expected. I would advise that you make sure your TV is listed in the document before purchasing. You might want to get your own bolts for the wall. Ours didnt break or anything, but I can see that happening. Completely worth the money.

The washers supplied did not fit over the larger bolts to fasten mounts on the set. Annoying, but workable for the price. Holds my 40" LCD just fine.

I gave it 1 star because of the way Amazon advertises this. Universal... Nope!
Also, the picture is not what you get. This may be an older version of this model.
It won't fit my 42" Philips LCD.
The product itself looks good for the price. No level though.

CAREFULLY check to see if your TV will fit this unit. It is listed as fitting TV's of 23-46" however the 42" and 46" that it actually fits are VERY limited. Check peerless's site to type in your TV model, and it will pop up EXACTLY what you need. Then come back on over to Amazon to buy it because they charge 2x-3x as much dirrectly from the peerless site.
