Vantage point mount February 8, 2008 Very solid design and construction can handle a tremendous amount of weight. A little tricky to tweak the angles but once you have them you can lock it down with little worry of the thing getting loose.
For projectors with 3 mounting holes January 24, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a good mount but it is designed for projectors that only need three mounting points. many projectors need 4 mounting points (one in each corner) this will make this mount difficult to us....
Well designed projector mount! September 6, 2007 Well engineered product! Works great with my Optoma EP719. Strong and sturdy, easy to set up, many way to adjust. From opening the box to mounting it up takes less than 30mins but it took me an hour to adjust the projector to the ideal position. Most of 1 hour time spent on figuring out how much the arm will move when I tighten the screw. Highly recommend this to whoever looking for a good projector mount.
Easy and quick to install! August 23, 2007 Time to install: 1h Tools required: drill + bits (for mounting holes), metric hex key Ease of installation: Medium (reading the manual makes all the difference) Satisfaction with final installation: HIGH
I bought this mounting to ceiling mount my Viewsonic Cine1000 DLP projector and found this kit to be perfect. I have a low, sloping ceiling with exposed beams in my entertainment/multi-media room, so the 6-axis adjustability, coupled with the low profile, really helped to turn the projector from an obstruction to an asset!
A couple of notes from my installation experience: 1. Plan out your installation BEFORE starting - this will save you oodles of time and prevent you from installing and then re-installing 2. Dry-fit the projector to the mounting bracket before mounting it to the ceiling to make sure that it will hold your projector the way you want it 3. Have a friend help when you need to mount the projector to the ceiling bracket - it will make alignment much faster 4. Think about how the wires are going to run to the projector once you are done so you can incorporate the right length of conduit
Side note - I am an engineer, so I did not get frustrated with all of the adjustments and mounting holes as some other reviewers did...instead it was a wonderful little puzzle to do. However, I can see how people could get frustrated, so dry fit the assemblies first :)
Simple and solid August 7, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this to hold my HD1000U and it is working great. The directions are worthless. Putting it together based on the picture on the box was about as good. But it was so simple you really don't need the directions. It was as easy as finding a stub, drilling 3 holes and screw it in. Then mount the projector to the other end and attach the two sides. It will bend any direction you want and the extention bar is only needed if you want the 12 inch drop. I thought I would need it, but was able to install it without it. It looks nice and works great.
