It gets the job done if you are not in the market to buy a new car with an MP3 jack anytime soon, but I guess it depends on how picky you are. You need to turn the volume up all the way on your mp3 player and the car volume up all the way just to get the volume up to a reasonable level (like talking loudly), and there is some static in the background on all of the channels but not to bad. Cable seems thick and of good quality.

Before you buy make sure one of the frequencies that this device transmits on is free from interference from other stations. If so the sound quality is equivalent to FM radio, but if not you will likely hear scratchy static especially during quiet songs. I set my mp3 player on my dashboard so the transmitter is as close as possible to the radio which improves the signal. Also make sure you have the sound turned all the way up on your player.

This transmitter works will if your car is older and a need to play ipod or xm radio though speakers!

I was skeptical about getting an FM transmitter after reading many many opinions and reviews about transmitters in general, not just this model. But I have not been let down yet. The sound is crystal clear, no static, no interference. Have tried it in more than 3 different vehicles, no problems at all. Very happy.

Just got it, have only used it once but the design is great and the initial feeling is it's really a good buy.
