Will NOT read Apple 800k floppies January 7, 2008 I was unaware when purchasing this item, specifically for copying some old font data purchased many years ago on 800k Apple floppies to my iMac that this item DOES NOT READ THEM. If you are in the market for a multi-card reader that DOES NOT INCLUDE xD cards but reads the later 1.4mb PC and Mac floppies you are ok. So beware of any ambiguous item descriptions. Brian W. works as card reader too. December 24, 2007 If you need a floppy drive this one will work. I have found the card reader functionality of this device to be more valuable than the floppy drive. Make sure it can recognize your particular card(s) before you buy.
Great Gadget September 7, 2007 I needed this multi external drive to read and write designs for an embroidery machine, as my new laptop does not have a flopy drive nor a drive for a compact flash card. And the Iomega Floppy Plus 7-in-1 Card Reader seemed the best and least expensive solution. I have not used it much just made sure it worked for what I wanted, that would read and write the designs I needed. So far everything seems to work ok.
Great Mobile Back Up March 5, 2007 The 7-in-1 Reader works as advertised. I use it for occasional floppy disk reading, and regularly for Compact and Secure Digital flash reading. Works great! Good for when I travel and use my laptop.
A convenient all-in-one package June 29, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After having 6 computers in the house, and only 2 of them having floppy drives (and none having memory card readers) this item is so handy to have around. I love the fact that I can access my Mac and PC floppies from over a decade ago. Even OS X 10.4.7 still happily reads floppies.
Transfer speeds are roughly in line with what I expected, and that's no complaint.
The only thing I really noticed is that some of the slots for the memory cards are very snug. One of my Sony Memory Sticks I can't get back out without using pliers. To be fair it's a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor, but you think it could be a notch bigger so it would fit nicely.
Overall great product. It's priced probably a little higher than some people may like to pay, but the convenience of a combo drive scores it justification points.
