Works great so far July 8, 2008 It works with all my my memory cards so far and I have had not problems. It is very easy to use also. I highly recommend this. I had my doubts, but this works incredibly easy.
Wow! It works well AND was cheap! July 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After years of having an internal multi-format card reader I was dreading needing to get an external one. I read up on a dozen different models and decided the price and good reviews of this one made it worth taking a chance. I am using it on an iMac with 3 card sizes: SD, CompactFlash, and MicroSD. All work great. Hooking it up was instant. The transfer rate is spectacular especially when not hooked up through a USB hub.
Do I wish the cards were easier to get back out? Sure, but they're only a fraction more awkward to get out than my internal card reader and no worse than any other external model. It's nice to be truly pleased with product.
Unique Versatility July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a travel reader with which I don't have to hastle with an extra chord. Very small integrated USB plug SD readers are common (flash drive style), but not CF readers. I found only a couple options for CF only flash drive type readers that looked very cheaply made. I like this one because it has an integrated USB pig tail and inclusion of the USB extention chord for home use. It's a multi reader, so a little bigger than the thumb drive type. The slide seems like a bit of a waste of space, but it's not too big (about the width of a deck of cards). The reader is well made, fast (compared with my old readers), light, and travel worthy without the hastle of an extra chord to lose. It's rare to find a product that is as good for travel as home use. This is one. I was looking at the premier Sandisk readers, but this one better fits my needs and was less expensive while retaining the quality level I insist upon.
It would be perfect if Kingston would make a CF/SD only reader like this one with integrated USB that was even smaller. Doing away with the slide would save space. Another cover for slots would be fine. Keep the extention USB chord. It's a very nice add.
Four new drives! June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Kingston FCR-HS219/1 USB 2.0 Hi-Speed 19-in-1 Media Reader works just fine: plug it in your computer and you will find four new drive letters in windows explorer. Not only can you copy files between your memory card and your hard drive but also between different cards. The only -minor- complaint is that you have to find which letter corresponds to which card by trial and error. Also I think that the mini SD and micro SD slots share the same letter, although I could not test this since I did not have a mini SD card handy. Product documentation is minimal and not very user friendly. Its small size, short USB cable and driver less installation make this ideal for laptops and for carrying around. The extension USB cable allows you to connect it to hard to reach ports on back of desktops.
Good deal June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works as advertised for me. Great and supports SDHC cards. Not really much else to say!
