| Customer Reviews:
Easy and intuitive July 8, 2008 This is my first GPS and I did a lot of research before deciding on the Nuvi 350. I am very happy with it. It is very easy to enter my destination with many ways to do it. The Nuvi has predictive text so after I put in the first few letters of the city or street, it gives me a list of options. There are also many different categories (push the down arrow button to see more) that help you find where you are going. (gas, food, government, houses of worship, etc.) We recently used it on a trip to California. We were easily able to see the upcoming gas stations, find a city park in an upcoming city, put in restaurant names, find grocery stores, and the only problem was it led us to a half built Walmart (it will be open in a few months). I really liked that it says the name of the street to turn on. It gives plenty of warning. When you accidentally pass the turn, or choose to go another way, it recalculates and finds a new route. We especially liked the trip meter. We reset it as we left and then could see how many miles we had gone and how many more we had to go. (When will we be there?) The arrival estimate time was very accurate and updated as you went faster or stopped for lunch. My husband loves the My Current Location feature. He liked to see how we changed altitude as we went from sea level to Utah.
Great Device, Easy to Use. July 8, 2008 I've had this device for about a month and it's been working great. It acquires satelites quickly and reception is fantastic even in terribly cloudy situations.
The guidance is great, specially if you use text-to-speach, it is very precise.
Entering the address is very easy as it immediately guesses the street name based on it's database so there is little typing.
The database for POI is great, specially for finding gas and banks and such, although in some cases it was a bit difficult to find specific restaurants. The search POI feature is not very good in my opinion but this does not diminish the value of the device, perhaps it's just me and at the end of the day I got it to tell me how to get to a particular location which it does flawlessly.
The only thing I wished was a bit better is the alternate routing. If you tell it to take a detour it finds a route quickly, but it just hapened to me that the route it found was that specific day blocked by minor construction so I tried again to find another detour. To my surprise it sent me to the original route which was packed with traffic. I wished it was a bit more intelligent and could find at least a 3rd route but oh well, it is just one of those things that still in my oppinion do not deserve to loose a star.
I definitely recommend this device.
wonderful invention July 8, 2008 The garmin nuvi is the most helpful instrument I have ever purchased. It gives very direct instructions and is most helpful when traveling in unknown cities.
nuvi July 8, 2008 The product is great. Our third generation Nuvi and the best ever. However, it was not clear when purchased on line that we would also receive the case and power cord so we also purchased these items and then had to return them and pay the extra postage.
garmin nuvi 350 July 8, 2008 Consumer reports highly recommended it. I bought it for my husband as a gift. He constantly tells me how much he loves it. Best gift I've ever bought him. I love how it talks you through directions and if you screw up, it gives you another route. It's easy to use.
