2 out of 5 stars Smells and feels like fake leather!   July 23, 2008
Incipio claims this case is made from "premium top-grain leather", but I really have my doubts. Upon fairly casual examination of the case material, the grain is too uniform in its microdimpled appearance to be real leather. It actually appears to be a vinyl fake leather, and the inner "suede" lining is microfiber, not natural suede.

I tested the case with a few drops of water applied to the outer surface, and the water beads off, and doesn't disappear into the "leather" when rubbed. Same story with moisturizer (oil based). Seems like a dead give-away for synthetic pleather. I think it highly unlikely that the leather has been treated to make it so completely water repellent. I am going to write to Incipio to see what their explanation is.

I'm a bit disappointed that with the possibly deceptive "leather" claim, a case should cost so much. Let's not even get started with the shoddy attention to detail. The inner window edge on my case isn't even cut straight, and looks like it was rather poorly cut freehand. The stitching isn't straight either.

The saving grace which earned it two stars is that it does a good job of protection, the clear window works well, and the flap shuts well with the hidden magnetic catch.

For only a little over $5 more, the Zune Leather Case 80 GB seems like a much better value; it is premium in appearance (moulded leather, nice Zune motif interior), with attention to detail. This case, on the other hand, looks like it was put together in a sweat shop with poor quality control. The only reason I got the Incipio case is that I need wider headphone jack clearance to enable use of my Westone UM2 in-ear monitors.

I wish other manufacturers would step up and offer us Zune fans more case and accessory choices. The Zune is truly taking off in popularity as the discerning music fan's player of choice.

4 out of 5 stars INCIPIO CASE   July 6, 2008
I'M REALLY HAPPY WITH MY NEW CASE! IT IS REALLY GOOD LOOKING AND VERY EASY TO OPEN AND STORE. ALL OF THE OPENINGS BUILT INTO IT ARE PERFECT AND AS FAR AS SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWS SAID ABOUT AN OFFENSIVE ODER WHEN THEY OPENED THE PACKAGING, I DID NOT FIND ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THANKS INCIPIO AND AMAZON.

4 out of 5 stars only one small problem   July 3, 2008
This is a great case for the Zune 80, especially considering it's cost compared to MS's. The only problem IMO is that the belt clip doesn't have a hook at the bottom of it and it can slip off the waistband if you are not wearing a belt.

4 out of 5 stars High quality case for Zune 80   June 17, 2008
I recently purchased my Zune at Walmart and was very displeased with the lack of selection of cases for this unit. All they had was a $30 case from Belkin that didn't look all that hot. I searched on the Internet and finally found the one I thought was the best one and I was right. One of the cases I read about didn't have a big enough opening for other headphones and one of them didn't have an opening for a port on the bottom. This one is exactly what I wanted. It appears to be high quality leather and I feel much better about carrying my Zune around now. The only problem I have with it is where it was made, China. That is why I won't give it 5 stars. I'm sick of having to buy almost everything I own from China. What ever happened to "MADE IN THE USA"?

5 out of 5 stars A great case for a Zune 80   May 23, 2008
A good quality case. Fits my Zune 80 perfectly with all the openings you need to hook up headphones and the charger/sync cable and use the controls. Wasn't sure at first if I was going to like the flip cover but it works well and the magnets that hold it in place are great. The belt clip is plastic but seems pretty sturdy. I've been using it for weeks and so far no complaints.
