Not quite the help it was to be July 14, 2008 The connection to the Garmin is poor, falling out repeatedly. Nor does it aid in connecting to satellites.
Garmin GPS Antenna May 31, 2008 Minimal improvement. I don't think the product is worth the cost. I installed this to the inside of my windshield. It may work better if you can install to the outside of your vehicle.
Garmin 25 MCX Antenna for GPS and iQue 3600 May 5, 2008 I'm 100% + + satisfied with my new Garmin 25 MCX Antenna! Five stars. It's performance, coupled to my Garmin iQue 3600, was flawless. As my ultimate test, now that Continental Airlines allows passengers to use a GPS inside the cabin during flights, I took my new Garmin 25 MCX on vacation in April 2008. This is why I purchased the 25 MCX. After take off, as soon as the flight attendant announced that passengers may use electronic devices I started. After connecting the antenna cable to my iQue 3600, I tucked the antenna head up under the pull-down window shade, between the shade and the window, to hold it in place. The dome side of the antenna faced out the window. Everything worked perfectly! I was so pleased. During my 3,200 flying miles on this vacation I usually had connectivity with six to eight satellites at any time. I've been flying up to 100,000 miles or more annually on business for 17 years. I've often wondered where I was between points A and B and the name of even the smallest town below me. On this trip I knew everything I wanted to know at all times. I've also used the 25 MCX in town since my vacation with the same high performance satisfaction. I strongly recommend the Garmin 25 MCX Antenna!
Garmin GPS external Antenna April 7, 2008 I purchased the garmin external antenna as a means of keeping my gps safe and dry in my pocket, while still maintaining a strong signal during hikes and the like.
When I first got the unit I connected it up and it worked fine. When I tried to disconnect the unit from the back of my GPS, it broke. Amazon is in the process of replacing the antenna, and I hope it was a defective model as opposed to a bad design.
Amazon also gave me a purchase credit for the cost of shipping as I was shipping from Canada, and they pay free shipping in the US only. I was very pleased with the service. Let's hope that the new antenna's conenctor will work better than the old one.

It's ok. February 25, 2008 This external antenna certainly helped me with my Garmin i2 model, which has been discontinued by Garmin. The GPS I have fails to acquire satellite whenever it is cloudy, under bridges, or in downtowns with high rise buildings like in Chicago downtown. But, when I had this connected, it didn't lose the satellite. The satellite acquisition also was faster when I had this connected to my i2.
